Dear Avalos P-TECH Families,
Welcome to the 2026–2027 school year! As your proud principal, I am thrilled to welcome our returning scholars and new families to another incredible year of growth, discovery, and achievement. Guided by our core mission, Avalos P-TECH is dedicated to preparing every student for high-demand, high-wage careers while empowering them to earn an Associate’s degree. This year, we continue to lean into our core values—Purpose, Integrity, Collaboration, Inclusivity, and Performance—to foster an environment where all learners feel supported, inspired, and driven to succeed.
High academic expectations are at the heart of everything we do. We believe that every student is capable of extraordinary performance when held to rigorous standards and given the necessary tools. This year, our team is committed to providing innovative, high-quality instruction while maintaining a safe, secure, and structured learning environment. Safety is our top priority, and we ask for your partnership in enforcing our clear/mesh backpack policy, proper dress code standards, and daily attendance so that our focus remains fully on instruction and student well-being.
True education is a collaborative journey between the school, the student, and the home. We encourage you to stay deeply engaged in your child’s learning by communicating with teachers, attending campus events, and tracking academic progress. Together, we can ensure that every student reaches their full potential and graduates ready to lead in college and their chosen career. Thank you for your continued trust and support—let’s make this school year our best one yet!
Warmly,
Dr. Cierra B. Nickerson, Principal

- 20+ minutes Late = ABSENCE
- 3 Tardies = 1 ABSENCE (3 ABSENCES = Chronic Tardiness)
- Chronic Tardiness results in an intervention plan [Administration + Teachers + Parents + Student]
