Principal's Corner
Hello FamiLEE,
We had a very busy week! Progress reports will go home on Monday so please look out for those. Please be reminded that next Friday we will have a half day. Buses will run as usual but we need to ensure all car riders are picked up by 1:00pm on Friday.
The 2025 Curriculum Showcase will be held tomorrow, February 8, 2025 in the VBC East Hall for parents and students to experience all the career tech pathways that HCS has to offer. Middle schools, high schools, HCS departments, colleges, and local businesses will also be in attendance. There will be breakout sessions for AP and honors, magnet, and dual enrollment. There will also be stage performances from across the district and JROTC color guard will lead the curriculum parade! Come find out all you need to know about the various pathways within HCS.
Last week was National School Counseling Week and we want to celebrate our amazing school counselors Mrs. Lee and Mrs. White!
I want to continue to emphasize the importance of all students being here each day and on time. Good attendance is essential for achievement in school and we need your child here as much as possible so that we can move forward as a school community. When your child misses school for any reason, please send excuse notes to LHS.Attendance@hsv-k12.org.
Have a great weekend!
Sincerely,
Kitrise Torain
LHS Principal

Shout-Outs
- Shout-out to our Freshmen of the Week from this week! Alexa Zumaya-Cayetano comes to us from Williams Middle School. She is interested in playing soccer here at Lee. In her spare time she likes to hang out with family and friends. When she graduates from high school she would like to go to college but is unsure of what she would like to focus on while there. Her favorite teacher at Lee is Ms. Jiang because she is a great teacher that makes math fun! Elias Mills comes to us from ASFL Middle School. Here at Lee he is in the photography magnet and also plays the trumpet in the marching band. In his spare time he likes to play video games. When he graduates from high school he is unsure what he wants to do but has big plans! His favorite teacher at Lee is Mr. Matzkind because he learns lots of interesting facts and because they do projects. Congratulations to both of them for representing our FamiLEE values so well!
- Shout-out to the Lee High School Adapted PE Basketball team for their win at Huntsville High on Tuesday! Also shout out all the students who traveled to HHS to support our team!
- Shout-out to LHS Varsity Football players Israel Caldwell, LaDarren McClendon, Leondist Rascoe, and Tyler Garner for signing to play football in college this week! We are so proud of all they have accomplished and excited to see what they will do next!
