Greetings Eagle Families,

How quickly time flies! It's been a fantastic summer--I was able to enjoy my daughter's high school graduation and preparation for college (GCSU Bobcat in just a few weeks!), visits with friends & family, and travel (Gulf Shores, AL, Naples, FL, and Sothern California).

Summer may still be in full swing, but the excitement is building as we gear up for the 26-27 school year at AES! I hope your break has been filled with relaxation, adventure, and plenty of time with the people you love. It's not over yet...keep enjoying it!

As I reflect on all we accomplished last year, I am filled with pride for our students, staff, and families. Because of our collective efforts, Alpharetta Elementary continues to thrive. Here are just a few highlights from last school year:

  • Outstanding State Recognition (SSAS):

We earned Gold Status on Georgia’s Single Statewide Accountability System (SSAS), which measures overall school performance—including academic achievement, growth, and readiness. This is a true testament to the hard work of our students and teachers!

  • Five-Star Climate Award:

We were recognized by the Georgia Dept. of Education and Fulton County Schools for fostering a positive, safe, and supportive learning environment.

  • Georgia Seal of Preparedness
This recognition is awarded to schools who have taken initiative to improve the emergency preparation needs of the building and is recognized by the Georgia Emergency Management & Homeland Agency and the Georgia Dept. of Education.

  • PBIS Distinguished Level
This recognition by the Georgia Dept. of Education indicates that we have demonstrated outstanding implementation of the positive behavior intervention support (PBIS) framework resulting in strong student outcomes in the areas of positive school climate and effective support of student's behavioral, social and emotional needs.

  • Attendance
4 consecutive years in the On-Target Attendance Band maintaining a chronic absenteeism rate <10%

I am truly grateful for the steadfast support of our families and the dedication of our educators who help set the foundation for a successful year. When our students arrive, they will bring the excitement and enthusiasm that make our school thrive. Together, we will create meaningful learning opportunities, celebrate successes both large and small, and foster a culture where every individual feels valued, heard, and welcome. I am excited for another amazing year in the Nest!

As always, please don't hesitate to reach out. My email is: crawfordce@fultonschools.org

Morning Carpool & Arrival

Due to the population growth of the Alpharetta area, more & more drivers are using Mayfield Road as a means to get to their morning destination. Please take note of the "No left turn from 7:10-7:40am" signs that are now located at the main and bus rider entrances. By helping to adhere to this, the flow of traffic can continue while ensuring that our students who arrive by car are in their class by 7:40am.

Beginning this school year, morning carpool will end at 7:35 am. Ending at this time allows for students to walk to their class and be in their seat by 7:40am, which is the start of our instructional day. If you are arriving after 7:35 am, you will be directed to park and walk your child to the front door. If the bell rings during this time, you will need to sign you child in on our Checkmate system which is located outside the front doors.

*Please note, we have several families with students who participate in our Autism classes and use our main carpool drop off area after 7:35am. This is to help ease their transitions and limit distractions.

CLASS PLACEMENT

All schedules and teacher assignments are tentative and may change until after the 10th day of school as that is when teacher allotments will be finalized based on student enrollment at that time. We are not accepting requests for teacher changes until after the 10th day of school and change requests will be accepted based on the instructional needs of the student.

AES FAMILY HANDBOOK

Please take a moment to review information in our AES Family Handbook. In coming weeks, we will highlight pertinent information you need to know about.

Introducing SchoolCash Online for Fulton County Schools

Fulton County Schools is excited to introduce SchoolCash Online—a convenient and secure way for families to pay for school-related fees. With this new system, you can easily pay for items such as field trips, classroom activities, parking permits, yearbooks, and more—all from the comfort of home.

SchoolCash Online helps reduce the need for cash and checks in our schools while giving families a safe and simple way to make payments using a credit card, debit card, Apple Pay, or Google Pay.

Getting Started

Beginning July 1, 2026, please be on the lookout for a registration email from:

"KEV Group at noreply@stagingschoolcashonline.com."

The subject line will read: “Fulton County Schools shared a student with you.”

For step-by-step registration instructions, please visit the SchoolCash Online webpage at https://fultonschools.schoolcashonline.com/.

Learn more about SchoolCash Online on the FCS district website at www.fultonschools.org/schoolcash.
