What to expect...
Hello Parents/Guardians,
Great news! We are making a few changes to our weekly newsletter. To make things simpler, this newsletter will be a place for a lot of school information all in one place, which means fewer text alerts for you! Please check it weekly for upcoming events, news, and student highlights.
This is our first one and will only get better from here on out.
Thank you!!
Thank you, Waldron Community, for the incredibly warm welcome as your new school Superintendent/Principal.
I feel fortunate to work with such an amazing staff and awesome students. Though I've only been here a little over a week, I see great potential, and I promise to work tirelessly to make our school the absolute best it can be.
Small communities thrive when we set aside differences to focus on what's best for our youth. We can all work together to support the school and ensure our students have the environment they deserve.
I would love to meet any parents who want to be involved in this exciting process. Please call or email me at Matt.Furtney@waldronspartans.org anytime to schedule a conversation.
Thank you,
Matt Furtney
Waldron FFA
Here is a little information about our FFA program from Ms. Lemle.
A highlight for us this week was the broiler competition. The FFA students participating collectively raised 150 chickens and recorded details on how they raised those birds, including reasons for why they chose certain feeds and pen setups. We had 5 teams compete on Wednesday, where each team selected and brought their best 5 birds to Fowlerville Michigan. Jaelynn's mom, Bobbi, graciously helped transport the birds for us and helped the students with whatever was needed. The students participated in every step of the process and represented Waldron well. The students who attended the competition were Silas and Seth Williams, Luke Fether, Kaleb and Isaac Fether, Ben and Maddy Leininger, Jealynn McClanahan, and Jacob Boltz.
