Dear Landing Trail and Gibbons Families,

Welcome to a new school year! Whether you're returning or joining us for the first time, we’re so glad you’re here. At both schools, we believe that school is more than a place to learn — it’s a place where relationships grow, confidence builds, and community takes root.

This year, our theme is #webelong — a powerful reminder that when students, staff, and families work together, we create a school environment where every person feels seen, valued, and included.

Throughout the year, you’ll see us focus on helping students grow in their learning, supporting their social and emotional development, and providing experiences that prepare them for the future.

While the work may look different from classroom to classroom or school to school, we’re united by a shared purpose: to nurture learners who are kind, curious, and confident.

We are excited about the journey ahead — and grateful to be on it with you. Thank you for the many ways you contribute to our school communities. Together, we will continue to make our schools places where every student knows they belong.

With gratitude,
Darryl Paziuk, Principal, Gibbons School

Louise Loh, Principal, Landing Trail School & Legal Public School

Darryl Paziuk, Principal, Gibbons School

I’m truly excited to be returning to Gibbons School as your principal. After 23 years in education—19 of them right here at Gibbons—this school feels like home to me. I’ve been fortunate to spend much of my career working alongside incredible students, families, and staff, and I’m eager to reconnect with familiar faces while getting to know the new ones who have joined our community.

My passion has always been creating a welcoming, supportive environment where every student feels valued and inspired to do their best. I look forward to celebrating our successes, tackling challenges together, and continuing to make Gibbons School a place where learning is engaging, relationships are strong, and school spirit runs deep.

It’s great to be back—let’s make this an amazing year!

Nicole Eisenkrein, Vice Principal, Gibbons School

I am excited to be joining the Gibbons School community as vice principal and I look forward to the year ahead. I have been part of Sturgeon Public Schools since 2004, spending most of my career based out of Namao School, as an elementary and junior high teacher, learning coach, and most recently as acting vice principal. This past spring, I had the opportunity to serve as acting vice principal at Landing Trail School, and I have loved meeting families within Gibbons. I’m now looking forward to transitioning to Gibbons School alongside our Grade 5 students and getting to know the wonderful staff, students, and families that make up this vibrant school community.

Creating an inclusive, engaging, and supportive school environment has always been a central focus of my work. I believe in the importance of building strong relationships and creating a school culture where students can thrive. I look forward to growing and learning alongside our students and contributing to the continued success of Gibbons School.

Louise Loh, Principal, Landing Trail School

I am proud to serve as the principal of both Landing Trail School and Legal Public School. I bring 25 years of experience in education, including teaching from Kindergarten to Grade 9 in rural, urban, and international settings. I remain especially honoured to lead Landing Trail, where I began my teaching career over two decades ago.

My focus is on building strong relationships, supporting high-quality teaching, and creating safe, inclusive spaces where every student can grow and thrive. Our theme this year is #webelong — a reminder that belonging is something we build together.

You’ll also see our school therapy dog, Boba, around the halls again this year — she’s proudly beginning her fourth year of service supporting student well-being.

I’m so grateful to be part of both communities and look forward to a year of connection, learning, and shared growth.

"Coming together is a beginning; keeping together is progress; working together is success."

Staggered Start Information for the 2025–2026 School Year

Previously shared June 2025 via SchoollMessenger.

As we prepare to welcome students to the 2025–2026 school year, we want to ensure a smooth and positive start for everyone. All Sturgeon Public Schools will have a staggered entry to help reduce student anxiety, ease transitions, and clearly communicate school routines and expectations.

Staggered Start Dates:

📅 Thursday, August 28, 2025
📅 Friday, August 29, 2025

Grades 1–9 Staggered Entry (Both Schools):

  • Thursday, August 28 – Students with last names A–K

  • Friday, August 29 – Students with last names L–Z

➡️ All students in Grades 1 to 9 will attend one of the two staggered start days based on their last name.
➡️ All students will attend full days (please bring supplies, snacks, lunch, and a water bottle).

Kindergarten & Pre-Kindergarten:

  • Pre-Kindergarten families received a phone call at the end of June with details.

  • Kindergarten families received a letter with their designated start date and time.

  • Please follow your specific start instructions for Pre-K and Kindergarten.

What to Expect on Your Staggered Start Day

🚌 Transportation:

  • Buses will run on their regular routes and times on both staggered days.

  • Transportation Services will notify drivers which students are attending each day.

  • Drivers will be practicing routes and timing, so you may notice buses stopping at locations even without students.

🚪 Arrival and Entry:

  • Please use the main entrance at both schools on your child’s staggered start day.

  • Upon arrival, families are invited to gather in the gym. Homeroom teachers will meet students there and escort them to their classrooms.

  • Staff will be present all day in the gym to help families and guide students.

  • Families are welcome to stay briefly to enjoy refreshments and meet teachers.

🏫 Classroom Assignments:

  • Grade 1–4 classroom assignments were posted in PowerSchool on June 30 at 4:00 PM.

  • Landing Trail School Placement concerns will be addressed after September 8, once final enrollment numbers are confirmed.

🎉 Welcome Assembly:

  • Landing Trail School will hold a welcome assembly at 2:15 PM on both staggered days to introduce staff and celebrate the start of a new school year.

  • GIbbons School - TBD (More to come!)
