Parent Newsletter 3/9/26
A Note from Mr. Hamilton, Principal
Greetings,
Believe it or not, March is here! This is an exciting time for our students and staff. Spring benchmark testing is underway coupled with parent/teacher conferences, giving us an awesome opportunity to study and dialogue around current data, trends, and areas of need. We had a blast with our LINKs Better Together week, and look forward to continuing our Reading River initiative throughout March's Reading Month. Please encourage literacy at home, and help your kiddo consider what new reading might be around the bend. If you haven't had an opportunity to visit/revisit the Lost & Found, please do so during your visit for parent-teacher conferences, or schedule a different time if need be. We hope to deplete the surplus of items considerably, and see to it that things are returned to their rightful owners.
Please continue promoting and practicing the Rocket Way outside of school, as well as our monthly character trait in alignment with Capturing Kids' Hearts. Throughout the month of March, we will be celebrating courage. Great things happen when we all step up! Spring break is right around the corner. Upon return, we'll focus on perseverance as our CKH leadworthy theme of the month, with a collective charge of finishing strong!
You'll find a whole host of activities, opportunities, and events signaled throughout the newsletter that follows. Stay curious, plan ahead, and please let us know how we can be of support. Our teachers have so many cool things planned for the spring. Peak moments will most certainly be created as we solidify the best year yet!
As always, please reach out with questions. Thank you for your ongoing support and partnership!
Cordially,
Cody

COURAGE
Be Prepared with the appropriate Clothing for the Weather
Please send your student with the appropriate gear for recesses. No matter the age of the child, it's a good idea to send an extra change of clothing, including socks, to keep in their locker in case they get wet while playing outside. Being prepared saves a phone call home.
Please Keep Our School Grounds and Neighboring Yards Clean
Please be respectful of our school grounds and those around us by keeping the area litter free.
Thank You!

- If you're running late, please bring your child to the office and sign them in.
- When dropping off and/or picking up your child, we thank you for coming to the sidewalk, rather than having students run to you in the parking lot.

***Please remain patient, observant, aware, and courteous. Arrival and dismissal is simply about all kids being able to enter and exit school safely. We appreciate your partnership in keeping these critical portions of the day both safe and supportive.

An hour or more before dismissal = Absence
Student Cell Phones and other Texting Devices at School Need to Remain in the Backpack in the Locker
Cell phones and/or texting devices can be disruptive to the educational environment. Students are not permitted to carry them during the school day - this includes during recess and lunch. When possible, parents should communicate through school staff. If these items are brought to school and are seen, they will be taken away. Items will be held by the principal until a parent or guardian comes to school to pick them up. Apple watches are discouraged, but if worn, should only be used as a watch. If seen talking on or texting with an Apple watch, the watch will remain in the office until a parent or guardian comes to school to pick it up. Thank you for your observance of this policy.
NO PETS ON SCHOOL PROPERTY
Please do not bring your pets on school property for the safety of our students and staff. Service animals are welcome.
Thank you for your understanding!
