Caragher's Corner
Evening Parents/Guardians,
A quick reminder that our Open House is this Wednesday from 5:30–6:30 PM. While this is not a time for parent-teacher conferences (those will take place later this fall), it’s a wonderful opportunity to walk through the building, meet staff, and see what your students have been working on so far this school year. We hope you’ll mark your calendar and stop by!
Believe it or not, we are already approaching the midpoint of the first quarter. Now is a great time to check in on your student’s progress. PowerSchool is the best tool for viewing grades; please call the school if you need assistance with access.
I’ve also had a few clarifying questions about morning drop-off. To help keep things smooth and safe, please remember:
-
We use two lanes in the morning to help expedite the process.
-
The circle is not to be used for drop-off.
-
Always be mindful of students and staff crossing the parking lot.
Finally, while we are still finishing up NWEA testing, most students have completed both the ELA and Math assessments. Please take a moment to thank your student for their focus and effort during testing, and thank you as well for your encouragement throughout the process.
We appreciate your continued support and collaboration. Have a great weekend.
Sincerely,
Adam Caragher, Principal ~ GBS
The Curiosity Cube is Coming to GBS!
We are looking forward to having our 5th, 6th & 7th graders visit the Curiosity Cube (https://thecuriositycube.com/), which will be onsite on Wednesday, October 8th. Sponsored by MilliporeSigma, the Cube is designed to spark scientific curiosity and passion, encouraging students to pursue careers in STEM fields. The Cube experiments are led by MilliporeSigma employees, giving students an opportunity to learn from “real life” scientists and ask questions about a future career in STEM! A photo release form was sent home with your student and is attached below in case you need a copy. Please sign and return it to your student's advisory teacher by Monday, October 6th. If you have any questions, or need additional information, please let me know! ~ Laura Gourlay, School Counselor (lgourlay@conval.edu, 603-588-6630 x 6003)
