  • Classes begin at 8:10. Students arriving after 8:10 must be accompanied by an adult and checked in at the office as a tardy. Parents have 3 days upon the date of return to get excuses turned in. Only doctor's notes are excused absences. Students are still responsible for making up any missed work. Maximum unexcused absences including early checkouts and tardies is 13 for the year.
  • Cell phones (and electronics) are not allowed on campus by students ordered by LA state law. The bus is an extension of the school so the same rules apply.

  • Shorts/skirts should be knee length.
  • On free dress days when jeans with rips are worn, skin must not show.

Student Council Voting

SMA's student council election used an electoral college system! This means that instead of a direct vote where each student's vote counts equally, representatives (the electoral college) cast votes on behalf of the students. This system can sometimes be used to ensure that different groups or classes within the school have balanced representation.

Egypt

4th graders had exciting lessons on EGYPT!! Mr. Bayoumi was a special guest speaker and Miss Emily Torres’s ART class decorated the hall to surprise them!! Thank you all SINCERELY for helping to make Egypt come alive!!
