The Panther Press
Aug. 10- Aug.14
From the Principal's Desk
Panther Nation,
We had a great week in Panther Country this week! We had a rocky start, but students settled in nicely and we ended the week on a high note! I would like to take a moment and thank our entire communality for your support and understanding this week. Part of our Panther Promise is to keep our students safe. We work hard each day to make sure we fulfill our promise to the fullest. I want to thank all our staff and students on how they conducted themselves on Monday. As always, we look to improve on our processes. We have taken the time to debrief as a district and look forward to continuing to partner with everyone to keep our campus safe at all times.
I was so busy this week visiting classrooms, watching volleyball games, visiting and meeting students, helping at lunches, and so much more. I visited every single classroom in the first two days of the week; it was so fun! Special shout out to our volleyball teams! Both our Freshman and JV teams played soooo well. Our varsity showed some real grit on court and took "the other team" to 5 sets after being down 0-2! That is what it means to Live Gold!
Parents, please take some time to speak to your students about phone use on campus. We have held our assemblies to go over expectations, but please take time to review our phone expectations. Please remind your student to keep their phones and headphones away for the day. We told students as soon as the morning bell rings to go to first period, phones and headphones must be put away (this includes lunches and passing periods) until 4:20. Thank you for your help and support with this. They have been doing great, but some still need some reminders! Also, if your student has off campus lunch, please speak to them about returning on time each day.
We have all sorts of events this coming week from water polo, to tennis, to XC to our Hot Dog Howdy! Hope to see you at those events! Speaking of seeing you at events, part of Living Gold is to be spirited on campus and to attend our events to cheer on our teams! We had a good crowd of students and parents at the Volleyball games! Great job Panthers!
This weekend is going to be tough for me and my family. . . we have to take our oldest to move in to her dorm! We prepare our kids to be tough and brave when they go off to college, but no one prepares the parents! We are excited for her new journey, but we will sure miss her!
Have a great weekend!
