Fisher Family Update
November 22, 2024

Good Afternoon Fisher Families,
We are excited to share that our recent Fisher School community meetings were a wonderful success! In an effort to foster a spirit of gratitude and strengthen our school community, we brought together older and younger students for meaningful conversations about the things in their lives that they are thankful for.
Throughout the meetings, students had the opportunity to reflect on and share their blessings, whether through pictures, words, or both. These heartfelt ideas were then written or drawn on leaves, which will be displayed on one of our three “Thankful Trees” around the school.
The objective of this activity was to encourage our students to appreciate the many things they have in life, while also creating opportunities for students from different grade levels to connect and build relationships. Many of our younger students may not often have the chance to interact with older peers, and this event provided a unique and enriching opportunity to bring our school community closer together.
We hope that this experience has helped our students develop a deeper sense of gratitude while also enhancing the bonds between all members of our school family. We look forward to seeing the trees filled with the wonderful thoughts and reflections of our students!
Please read through this edition of the Fisher Family Update for important updates, dates and events.
Have a great weekend,
Brian

Battle of the Books is back at Fisher School! We are so excited that every student in grades 3,4, and 5 is participating in our Battle of the Books tournament. We had an amazing parade on Thursday afternoon announcing the 25 books that will be on the Battle list. Students then gathered with their teammates and met their staff member coaches for the first time. Each student has a Battle folder with information. They have a list of 25 books and have pledged to read at least 3 books before the Battle Tournament in February. Copies of the books are available in the Fisher Media Center. Everyone is encouraged to read at school and home and to read as many of the books as possible. Once a book is completed, each student will write a brief summary, and return their book slip, and we will add a sticker to the team’s chart. The more you read, the more you know, and the more you can help the team win the Battle in February! Happy Reading!!

Fisher Counselor's Update
Hello Fisher Families!
We are going to start putting together some lunch bunches for students. Lunch bunches are scheduled times when a small group of students can eat lunch together, with a counselor, and socialize with different games or activities. Sometimes, groups are purposefully put together for a variety of reasons, while other groups might be selected at random. Please reach out to one of the counselors if you would not want your child to participate in these groups.
Please do not hesitate to reach out to a counselor with any questions or concerns.
Thank you,
Carly Mahoney & Erin MacQuarrie
