Warm Welcome Back: November Edition
November Message
Dear Roselle Park Family,
I hope November has begun well for all of you. As we enter this short month, one centered on gratitude, I want to take a moment to share how thankful I am for each of you. It is a true privilege to witness and be part of your children’s academic and personal growth every day. This month, my hope for all of us is that we continue to practice the art of giving and understanding. That we pause to appreciate family, connection, and even the smallest moments because so often, those small moments turn out to be the biggest and most meaningful.
I also want to express my deep gratitude to our entire district staff. Their dedication, hard work, and care for our students and community are truly humbling. It is an honor to be part of such a compassionate, committed team, a family in every sense of the word.
Wishing you all a month filled with warmth, gratitude, and joy.

Across our District
3rd Place Winner Red Ribbon Contest
I am proud to share that Robert Gordon 5th grader- Jose Luis Torres- won 3rd place in his grade category on October 12 for the Red Ribbon Contest! Congratulations to him and Ms. Russoniello for guiding him!
Pumpkin Art in PreSchool
During the past two weeks, the preschool students created pumpkin art! First, the students created pumpkin prints by applying orange paint to the bottom of a cake pan and then drawing into the paint with a Q-tip. They then pressed a piece of paper on top of the cake pan, counted to 3 and then pulled off their print. The students were amazed by this process! Afterwards, the class collaborated on a large pumpkin using foam brushes, glue and wallpaper samples. The following week, students continued making pumpkin art by focusing on fine motor skills and ripping paper. Students took their ripped paper and glued it to another paper to create a ripped paper pumpkin.
Exemplary Educator Recognition Program - Congratulations
I am excited to share some great news from our Middle School. Last year the middle school admin team nominated three of our teachers for the 2025 NJ Exemplary Educator Recognition Program. We are super thrilled to share that all three were selected. Only 120 educators in the entire state are receiving this award via a state certificate and letter. The goal of this program is to identify educators who are valued by their school and community and have exhibited strong knowledge and skills, an inspiring presence, and a clear vision for quality teaching and learning. Congratulations Mr. Lacey, Ms. Howell and Ms. Jones.
Community Helpers and Art in Preschool - Thank you Ms. Parducci-Cesaro
In the preschool art classes, students and staff explored creativity through a series of hands-on projects inspired by real-world helpers and exciting themes. First, they collaborated on a large group painting using hats modeled after community helpers, firefighters, doctors, and construction workers, with brushes and paint sticks attached to the brim.
Art in Preschool
With laughter and movement, they painted by nodding and swaying, discovering new ways to create lines and textures while working together. The children also learned about dentists by painting large tooth shapes, practicing techniques like dry brushing, stippling, splattering, and scratching while discussing healthy dental habits.
Community Helpers
When studying mail carriers, they designed colorful postcards, complete with their own creative stamps, to understand how mail connects people. Finally, during a space-themed activity, students crafted multimedia planets from paper plates and attached astronauts to a pipe cleaner to simulate orbiting in space. Each project blended art, imagination, and learning, encouraging curiosity, cooperation, and a deeper connection to the world around them.

Important Information
General Assessment Schedule and District Assessment Schedule
The general assessment schedule is posted on our website (last updated 9.8.25).
We have updated the assessment schedule to include more of our internal assessments and hopefully made it a bit more parent friendly.
Here is a PDF version that is on our website organized by building and sorted by local, state, federal/national.
Information is repeated in the different buildings, but makes it helpful if parents are looking at particular grade levels to know what is happening in each building.
