This October, the goal of recognizing National Bullying Prevention Month in the Conejo Valley Unified School District is to encourage parents, students, and staff to unite against bullying and share the message that no one deserves to be bullied.
National Bullying Prevention Month is a campaign in the United States founded by PACER's National Bullying Prevention Center. During the month of October, communities across the nation campaign to raise awareness and educate people on the long term effects that bullying has on children.
Students, staff, and parents are encouraged to βTake the Pledgeβ against bullying by supporting others who have been hurt or harmed, treating others with kindness, being more accepting of peopleβs differences, and helping to include those who are left out. Click here to learn more.
LGBTQ+ History Month is observed every year in the United States during October to raise awareness of the history of LGBTQ+ people and related civil rights movements.
The theme for LGBTQ+ History Month 2025 is βActivism and Social Change,β which celebrates the contributions of LGBTQ+ individuals who have been activists and played a role in shaping social change and highlights how collective action drives progress and transforms lives within LGBTQ+ communities. Although all students will continue to receive free meals this school year, we ask all families to please complete the Free/Reduced Meal Application for the 2025β2026 school year by this Wednesday, October 1st. A PDF of this application is also available here.
This form impacts more than meals β including school funding, college application and SAT fees, bus passes, and other essential resources.
Even if your child doesn't eat school meals, submitting the application helps support our entire school community!
