OWL NEWS
VOLUME 15 - MARCH 31, 2025
Owl Families,
We’re excited to welcome everyone back from spring break and head into the final stretch of the school year. Let’s finish strong together!
As we enter state testing season for our scholars in grades 3-8, we want to remind families of the importance of a good night's rest, nutritious meals, and staying healthy. These simple habits can make a big difference in helping our students do their best!
We’re also wrapping up our One School, One Book program, and what a journey it has been! A huge thank you to all the families who joined us for OSOB Family Night and participated throughout the program—we hope you loved it as much as we did! Be sure to check below for all the details on our upcoming Spirit Week and door decorating contest, leading up to our Closing Assembly on Friday.
Thank you all for your continued dedication and support—we appreciate you!
Ms. Kama-Starr and Mr. Cohen

OWL SUPPORTER
We are thrilled to celebrate our March Owl Supporter: Kai Gamble's family!
Cornelia and Dominic Franklin are bursting with excitement and radiate love for the students of Riverside! They can be seen helping out at numerous school events, including the Halloween parade (in costume!), book fair, Snowball Shop, and classroom activities. They are super supportive of their granddaughter, Kai, and her classmates, always bringing fun and smiles to everyone they encounter. Their wonderful daughter, Jessica Gamble, is always willing to help chaperone field trips, send in goodies for parties, and lead fun activities for class celebrations. Our school is so incredibly grateful for all of the amazing support your family provides! Thank you!

TRANSPORTATION REMINDERS
- If you are dropping off or picking up your scholar(s) via the car line you MUST enter the line by driving down Montrose Avenue and turning left to go up along the front side of the school. Please do NOT cut across from Glencliffe to Montrose. Cutting across can back up the buses. It is also unfair to the families who are abiding by the rules and it sets a negative example for our scholars. Everyone's time is valuable and we appreciate your attention to this matter.
- Whenever you are driving near Riverside please be sure to obey all traffic laws. This includes but is not limited to driving within the posted speed limit, only parking in appropriate spots, and following the one-way signs. Please also refrain from blocking our neighbors' driveways and throwing trash out of vehicles. After all, we want to be good neighbors.
- School officially ends each day at 4:05PM. All scholars need to be picked up by 4:15PM. Any parent/guardian picking up their scholar(s) after 4:15PM will need to come into the office to sign them out. If you are running late, please be sure to call and let us know. You can call the main office number at 216-838-6700.
- The Glencliffe side of the building is ONLY for buses and vans. Scholars cannot be dropped off or picked up by families on the Glencliffe side of the building.
- Each day our playground is closed from 3:50PM to 4:15PM. We absolutely love that so many families want to stay after and play. We just ask that you give us this time to ensure every child has been safely dismissed.
- Please note that the playground is also closed in the morning. When the scholars arrive, they need to get right into the morning line.
- As a courtesy to our neighbors, please be mindful of the volume of your music while you are waiting in the car line. Thank you.
RIVERSIDE SWAG SHOP
ATTENDANCE
- Please call the office (216-838-6700) if your child will not be at school.
- Scholars are tardy after 9:35AM.
- Scholars will not be released early from school without the office receiving communication and consent from a family member in advance. We also ask that scholars are not picked up between 3:00PM - 4:05PM. This is to support our preparations for dismissal.
