Principal's Note
Dear MMES Families,
We have an amazing community event coming up next week: The MERSD K-12 STEAM Showcase. This is an event that has been spearheaded by Ms. Umile (MERMHS Math and Science Department Head) and is a great opportunity for our elementary students to showcase their science, technology, engineering, art, and mathematics knowledge while learning alongside grade 6-12 students from MERMHS. MMES will have a number of student displays and demonstrations at the event so you won't want to miss it!
I am looking forward to seeing you and your family there! See below for more info!
Have a great weekend!
Best,
John

ELA Coach Tips!
Looking for a fun game to play with your child at home to practice literacy skills? It’s called ‘Story Builders’. Write down a few random words on pieces of paper (ex: dragon, school, mystery, etc.), throw words in a hat, and take turns drawing a word. Once you pick a word, you create a sentence (younger students) or a short story using that word. As they build their story, encourage your child to add details and try using new vocabulary. This game boosts creativity, sentence structure, and vocabulary while keeping things fun and engaging! (Beth LeDoux, Elementary Literacy Coach, ledouxb@mersd.org)
