The News
We welcomed all of our students back to campus on Friday. Now, we are ready to get settled into a routine this week and build on the successes of the last two years. A lot of paperwork was given to students on Friday (or will be on Monday). This paperwork is due back to the student's Bobcat Period teachers no later than Friday.
We have an awesome Senior class, with a lot of leadership potential. In fact, we got great news over the Summer about our Seniors. We had the three highest composite ACT scores in the county last school year- Easton Hutcheson, Luke Garrard, and Cliff Harris!
Our Seniors celebrated the beginning of their final year a PCHS with the traditional Senior Sunrise on the football practice field (see picture above). I met with our Seniors on Friday and emphasized their role as leaders in making this a great year. We will have a mandatory Senior/Parent meeting on Tuesday at 6:30pm in the gym to discuss all things Seniors and their parents need to know.
Also coming up this week is Meet the Bobcats on Thursday at 7pm at the football stadium. Come out and cheer on our students as we get ready for an awesome start to the school year. We will have drinks on sale in the concession stand, school t-shirts for $20 and yard signs for $10 (all proceeds go to academic incentives for our students).
On Friday, our football team will travel to Colbert Heights for a preseason scrimmage beginning at 7pm. We don't play a home game of any kind until the second week of September. Our first varsity volleyball match is on August 21 at Wilson. Our first varsity football game is August 29 at Hamilton. Our first home volleyball match is September 9 and first home football game is September 12. Homecoming is September 26.
We have made a lot of upgrades at school during the Summer. We spent several thousands of dollars on stripping and waxing our hallway and classroom floors. They are brighter and cleaner than they have been in a long time. I want to thank Superintendent of Education Greg Hamilton for help with this project. We are also pressure washing all the concrete at school and the football stadium. The difference is palpable. We have also added some additional graphic art in the school as well.
Finally, one of the major initiatives we will be implementing this year is the Bobcat Leadership Academy. The Academy will focus on monthly leadership lessons, weekly reflections on leadership, guest question and answer sessions with successful alumni and local leaders, and a student-led innovation project to improve our school.
It really is great to be a PC Bobcat!
Have A Great Week!

Welcome Back To School Sign
One of our many school improvement projects this Summer is pressure washing the football stadium, the Square and other sidewalks at school. We also stripped and waxed all of the hallways and classrooms at school. We also added some more graphics to our hallways.
