CCA's May Character Trait: Self-Control
The May character trait of the month is self-control. I asked three students what self-control means to them, and here are their responses. Hannah from 11th grade said, “It means keeping control over your mind and your actions.” Henley from 2nd grade said, “It means having a controlled body and mind.” Raelynn from 1st grade said, “It means controlling what you say.” --Jacob
Devotion Corner
Parents, Grandparents, and Staff, we thought you might enjoy this devotion about self-control from “New Spring Church: There is freedom in self-control,” which is based off of Bible verse 1 Peter 1:13, “Therefore, preparing your minds for action, and being sober-minded, set your hope fully on the grace that will be brought to you at the revelation of Jesus Christ.” Click on this link to read more https://newspring.cc/devotionals/titus-an-8-day-devotional/finding-freedom-in-self-control

Chapel
Shay from C Bar C Horsemanship visited CCA with her pony Cupcake for chapel on Friday. She told us about her previous pony named Pep who had an injured leg. She explained how Pep was imperfect to the world, but to the Lord, was perfect. The Lord gifts every single one of us with different gifts and talents. No one else has the same gifts or talents as each other. We are perfect to the Lord and He wouldn’t change a single thing about us. She asked us, “How can you serve God in your life?" She explained how she uses horses to share the Gospel and that Pep was used to teach special needs kids to ride and that was God's plan for her life.
We should have a firm foundation in our life and it should be the Gospel. We can rely on the Lord in all life situations. 1 Corinthians 16:13 says, “Stand firm in your faith, be strong and courageous, do everything in love”. In every situation in our life we should strive to serve God in everything we do and rely on Him. We are to do everything in love and stand firm on our faith. --Carissa

Lake won with 45 votes; ocean came in a close second with 41, and last, but not least, pool received 32 votes. Did you know lakes have different life stages: youth, maturity, old age, and even death?
