Family Tags

All families, PreK–5th grade, will receive a Family Tag.

What is the Family Tag and Why Is It Important?

The Cedar Ridge Family Tag is an official identification system to ensure a safe, efficient, and secure dismissal process. It helps staff quickly identify authorized adults during car line and allows us to streamline school event check-ins.

Every Cedar Ridge family will receive one Family Tag to use for:

Daily dismissal pickup (car rider line)
Classroom parties and school events (used as your “ticket in the door”)

Where to display the tag:
Place the Family Tag on the passenger-side dashboard or hang it from the passenger-side visor, ensuring it is visible to staff. The tag should stay visible until your student(s) is in the car.

If you do not have your Family Tag:

You will be asked to pull forward and wait for a staff member.
Be ready to show your driver’s license for verification.
This applies to both dismissal pickup and school event check-in.

Dismissal

Bus Riders - Students riding a bus will be escorted to the bus, by a grade-level teacher. Siblings will be allowed to sit together on the bus.

Walkers - All walkers will exit the NW Gym doors. Parents are encouraged to create a rendezvous point away from the building. Please remember our neighbors by following neighborhood guidelines and not blocking driveways.

Car Riders -

Every Cedar Ridge Family will receive a Family Tag. This card must be used daily and must be visible during the entire dismissal line. The card may be placed on the passenger side of the car’s dashboard or the passenger side visor.

1. Cars will enter the loop at the stop light, forming a single line, pulling forward as far as possible, leaving no gaps. Do not leave your vehicle unattended in the pick-up line.

2. A staff member will call the name(s) displayed on the tag. Then your child(ren) will transition outside.

3. Staff members will direct students to the cones to wait for their vehicle.

4. Cars will need to move forward as other cars exit. Watch for staff members directing traffic.

5. Staff members or Safety Patrol will assist children into your vehicle.

6. By utilizing the name system, we ensure all students will enter the correct vehicle.

7. All students should be picked up by 3:12. At 3:12, students who are still waiting for their ride will move to the front office. Parents will need to come into the building to sign their child out. On Early Release Fridays, all students should be picked up by 2:30.

8. If you find it difficult for you to pick up your child on time, please contact our Extended Day Program (EDP) to learn more about this after-school program.

Drivers of cars without a Family Tag will be asked to show their ID. The driver will be asked to pull through the loop while the car caller is waiting for confirmation from the office.

This year, Cedar Ridge will have 2 buses, Bus 22 and Bus 30. Be sure to check the maps below to find your child's stop. If you need help or have any questions, call the front office at 918-357-4331.
