Spirit of Gratitude and Giving Shines Bright Across Troy 30-C This Holiday Season
As the holiday season approaches, Troy Community Consolidated School District 30-C is celebrating a remarkable display of generosity, kindness, and community spirit taking place across all district buildings and departments.
From elementary classrooms to transportation garages, Troy 30-C students, staff, and families are demonstrating what it truly means to give thanks and give back during this special time of year.
Survey Update: Your Feedback in Action
A huge thank you to the Troy 30-C families who participated in our Winter Family Survey. With 972 responses, we doubled our participation from the fall, marking our second-highest response rate since the survey began in 2023. Building leadership teams are currently analyzing the feedback to plan for continuous improvement. Preliminary district-wide data reveals that our safety score has increased by three points to an impressive 91% favorable rating. This exciting growth confirms that our efforts to create a thriving, safe environment for students, staff, and families are making a difference.

Caring Through the Holidays: Support for Your Family This Holiday Season
The holidays can be wonderful—and sometimes overwhelming—for kids and teens. If your child could use someone to talk to, or if you'd like guidance navigating a tough moment, we're here to help.
Through Cartwheel, your family has access to teletherapy, family check-ins, and psychiatric care with licensed clinicians. No waitlists, no hassle—just support when you need it.
Reach out to your child’s school counselor or get started here: https://www.cartwheel.org/families
Cartwheel has put together some simple, fun activities to help families connect and create special moments together.
Try these conversation starters at the dinner table, an act of kindness checklist, and more!
Winter Weather Communication
If inclement weather affects a regular school day, we will communicate directly through ParentSquare. Whenever possible, we’ll notify families the night before so you can plan ahead—but sometimes, decisions may need to be made early in the morning. These early morning decisions will be made by 6 am if possible.
If a weather-related closure is necessary, an E-Learning Day may be used. You can find details about our E-Learning expectations and procedures on our website: www.troy30c.org/elearning.
Notes from the Nurses
As we enter the sick season, please make sure your contact information in Skyward Family Access is up to date.
Follow these steps to make changes to phone numbers and email addresses in Skyward Family Access.
Each student must have two emergency contacts listed in addition to their parent(s)/guardian(s). These contacts should be available to pick up your child promptly, during the school day, if needed.
Also, check that your ParentSquare notification settings are correct. If the School Nurse can’t reach you by phone, she may send a ParentSquare message for a quick reply. Keeping communication open is important in case of illness or an emergency.
ParentSquare Update
An improvement to how you receive notifications for posts from ParentSquare. If you use the ParentSquare app and have both app and text notifications turned on, you'll receive post notifications through the app, with text notifications sent only as a backup when needed. This smart delivery system will simplify and streamline how you receive communications through ParentSquare.
No change for time-sensitive messages: Direct Messages and alerts will continue to be delivered via your preferred methods.
No action is required from your side! If you already use the app and have both app and text notifications turned on, you'll automatically benefit from this smart notification delivery.
