October Students of the Month
Ms. Villar and Mrs. Perala have selected Tara LeClair and Michaela Watson as the Business Students of the Month.
Tara is currently in Digital Publications. She brings a fresh perspective to the creation of the yearbook with creative ideas and a true desire to include the school community in the making of an awesome collection of memories to cherish for years to come. She is always ready and willing to try new things and reach out beyond the classroom. Adding to that, her photography skills are amazing! We cannot wait to see the fruition of some of her ideas this year!
Michaela is currently taking Entrepreneurship and what a perfect course for her to be involved in. Not only has Michaela been a leader in the class, she has also taken on an additional project creating t-shirts for ‘The Little Mermaid’ cast. Michaela embodied the entrepreneurial spirit by noticing a want of her fellow castmates and creating the product that satisfied that desire. This project was completely self-driven, with no urging from her teachers. Michaela is also Mrs. Perala’s ‘go-to’ for special projects that come up as she is a reliable, motivated student. In addition to being a self-starter, Michaela is personable and kind. We are grateful to have Michaela in our classes.
Veterans's Day Assembly - Tuesday, November 11th
Veterans Day is a time to honor and thank the brave men and women who have served in the United States Armed Forces. On this day, we recognize their courage, sacrifice, and dedication to protecting our freedom. Communities across the country celebrate with parades, ceremonies, and moments of silence to show gratitude for their service. It’s also a time to reflect on the importance of supporting veterans and their families every day, not just on November 11.
Westwood High School will be hosting our Annual Veteran's Day Assembly on Tuesday, November 11th in the Westwood High School Gymnasium. The ceremony will begin at 11 am and the public is welcome to attend. Please join us if you are able.
