As you might have heard from our district communications team, our snow day plans have been updated due to new state regulations. Here is a summary of the changes:

• Snow Day 1: Traditional Snow Day
• Snow Days 2-6: AMI (Alternative Methods of Instruction) Days on iPads
• Snow Days 7+: Traditional Snow Days with make-up days to be added at the end of the year.

At Fox Hill, we all follow the same schedule for our AMI days in order to be consistent for staff and families.

• 9:00-9:30: Welcome, Plan for the Day, & Brief Reader’s Workshop Lesson

  • 9:30-10:00 Time for students to complete the Reader's Workshop lesson assignment

• 10:00-10:15: Math Lesson

  • 10:15-11:00 Time for students to complete the math lesson assignment

• 11:00-11:15 Writer’s Workshop Lesson

• 11:15-12:00 Time for students to complete the Writer's Workshop assignment

• Encore assignments/activities should be pushed out to students by 12:00pm on AMI days via Seesaw.

Each grade-level team decides the technology tool that works best for their students for live virtual class meetings (Canvas or Microsoft Teams). Grade levels will teach/practice accessing the virtual meetings before AMI days begin. You can also expect communications from grade-level teams letting you know about those plans.

Please know we want every child to be logged in and present during a virtual learning day, but also understand there are circumstances outside of your control that may prevent that (technology issues, parents working and not able to assist, at a babysitter's, etc.). Please do not stress about getting your child connected on a virtual learning day if issues like these arise for you and your family.

Our Annual Fox Hill Turkey Trot was rescheduled for Wednesday, December 4th at 2:30PM. Parents of runners are welcome to come outside and watch the run. You do not need to check in to the office to come and watch the race outside. Please park and head towards the back of the school. As a reminder, all parents are welcome to watch the winners announced by following our You Tube Channel or going to our FH Facebook Page. If you signed up to volunteer for the Turkey Trot scheduled at the end of November, we would love to have your help tomorrow--please let Coach Milne know if you cannot make it (peyton.milne@nkcschools.org).

Because of the Turkey Trot, we will have a different lunch, encore and recess schedule for the day. We are asking parents not to come up and eat with their child on days that follow this different schedule. Thank you for your patience and understanding.

Adults MUST stay with their child at the dance. This is NOT a drop off event!!

Meal Tickets: $5 per meal/per person

(includes Costco size Pizza slice, drink, and cookies)

Glow Items/candy sold separately: $1 each, CASH ONLY

This event is hosted by our Booster Club, is FREE for all, and does not require a "ticket" admission. Pizza, candy, water and glow items will be available for purchase by cash only. In order for us to ensure we have enough for all, we are asking all families to RSVP to our Winter Wonderland Dance.

In order to make our Winter Wonderland a success, we need a few volunteers to help it run smoothly. Any and all help is greatly appreciated.

Our Booster Club would like to thank all of our staff for their hard work and dedication to all 620 students at Fox Hill. One way to show appreciation to our staff for all their hard work is to gift each staff member with a $10 gift card. They are asking for donations to help purchase these gift cards for staff members, making it a collective effort. If you would like to donate a $10 gift card or two, please sign up below and send the gift card to our FH front office. Our Booster Club will then distribute them to every staff member before the holiday break as a 'thank you for all you do!'
