" EXPERIENCING DIFFERENT CULTURES IS ONE OF THE BEST THINGS A HUMAN BEING CAN DO. IT PUTS YOUR WHOLE WORLD INTO PERSPECTIVE. ”
- Stephanie Gilmore
Good Afternoon, CUSD,
It has been a very busy week in CUSD! Congratulations to the 197 students in grades 5, 8, and 12 who received awards at our annual Biliteracy Awards and Cultural Fair this past week. This district-wide event continues to grow as our world language pathways expand.
We also held our Budget Study Committee meeting this week. These informative meetings are open to anyone and parents and staff members are encouraged to attend. The slides for the presentation are available for review on the website.
Recent trespassing incidents on our campuses have created significant liability risks for students, parents, and the district. Due to ongoing issues at Village Elementary during non-school hours, we have been forced to remove the outdoor lunch table sunshades. Please speak with your children about the importance of respecting closed campuses to ensure the safety and security of our community.
Students in grades K-8 are invited to attend a free STEM event hosted by CUSD Robotics this Saturday from 12-3 at CMS Granzer Hall. See details below.
Don’t miss the final weekend of CoSA’s Freaky Friday! Tickets available online and at the box office.
Respectfully,
Karl J. Mueller
Superintendent
Portrait of a Graduate
We recently gathered for the 2026 Biliteracy Awards and Cultural Fair, and it was a day to remember! It was wonderful to see our community come together to celebrate the hard work of our students and the rich diversity that makes us who we are. We danced, ate, and celebrated languages and cultures! A heartfelt thank you to all the volunteers, teachers, and families who put in the hours to make this event such a success. We are already looking forward to next year!

Ed Tech Parent Series
SDCOE is excited to announce the upcoming Educational Technology Parent Series, a free virtual learning opportunity open to all parents and educators across our region. This series is designed to support families and school communities in navigating educational technology and resources that empower student success.
As our educators, parents, and community come together to connect, challenge, and champion our students, we are humbled by the outpouring of compliments. What a positive testament to our CUSD family!
Click here to recognize an employee or volunteer who goes above and beyond to make a difference. Those who are "caught" will receive a copy of the positive words that were shared about them and a "Caught Being Awesome" decal. Please take a minute or two to brighten someone else's day!
