Dear Stewart Families,

Dear Stewart Elementary Community,

Welcome to the last week of school in 2025. We appreciate the kindness and generosity of our community members. Thank you for all you do to support our teachers and your student's classrooms.

Here are the 3 things you need to know:

  1. In the spirit of the holidays, we invite any student who would like to join us in dressing up this upcoming week. See the calendar below.

  2. Davis Behavioral Health is going to be sponsoring a Strengthening Families Program starting at our school in January. We invite all families to participate.

  3. Any Lost and Found items that are left will be donated next Friday. Please come and see if anything belongs to your family.

Sincerely,

Michelle Yoho and Laura Campbell

Principal and Administrative Intern, Stewart Elementary

School Information School Information

Stewart will be hosting an evening program for families through Davis Behavioral Health starting Monday, January 26th at 6:00 pm and ending on March 16th.

Strengthening Families Program is a 7-week program for families who have youth 10 - 14 years old. They meet once a week for 2.5 hours and we provide free dinner and childcare. How the curriculum is structured allows for parents and youth to meet separately for the first hour and then come together for the second hour to do an activity. Each week is a different topic and ranges from establishing rules and following through with consequences to encouraging family meetings and communication, as well as how to navigate peer pressure.

PARENTS WILL LEARN TO

  • Communicate well

  • Understand teens

  • Connect as a family

  • Set boundaries

  • Create family rules

  • Handle family conflict

  • Handle peer pressure

YOUTH WILL LEARN TO

  • Understand parent perspective

  • Refuse peer pressure

  • Listen and play

  • Cope during stressful situations
