MATH NIGHT IS THIS WEDNESDAY MATH NIGHT IS THIS WEDNESDAY

Blast off into Math Night! Don't forget to sign up to orbit around the first floor of Phelps solving math challenges in each Pod! We will be making pretzel & marshmallow constellations in the Cafeteria and estimating stars in the gym! It is sure to be a mathematically fun evening for our students and families to engage in together. We hope you can make it!

GRADE 4 CONCERTS GRADE 4 CONCERTS

We were treated this week to concert performances by Ms. Booth and Mr. Popadic's fourth grade classes. Students demonstrated what they learned on the recorder, and sang for staff, families, and in some cases, groups of younger students. There is so much to learn ahead of performing and so many lessons learned while doing it. Thanks very much to Mr. Popadic and Ms. Booth for their efforts, and especially to our students for their performances and for their bravery in getting up in front of such a large group of people. Families, it was great to see you in the building enjoying the performance!

EARLY RELEASE LAST WEEK EARLY RELEASE LAST WEEK

Do you ever wonder what we do when we have early release days? On Thursday last week, we had a staff meeting to review the bullying Intervention and response protocols, discuss belonging and student recognition at Phelps School, plus update staff on report cards, conferences, and other upcoming events. Staff held department meetings, prepared for the upcoming "poem in your pocket" day, and work on report cards. Fourth and fifth grade teachers met to collaborate on ELA curriculum and alignment. These days are essential for staff to prepare, reflect, and do the best we can for all students!

HOUSE STANDINGS HOUSE STANDINGS

As of Friday, the current house standings are:

First Place: Unity House

Second Place: Valor House

Third Place: Radiance House

Fourth Place: Harmony House

Fifth Place: Honor House

ALL BULLDOGS COMBINED: 28496

Students have worked hard to earn House points toward their assigned House this year: Harmony Dolphins, Honor Eagles, Radiance Horses, Unity Wolf Pack, and Valor Lions. Above are the current house standings as of Friday. Combined, students surpassed their goal of 25,000 points and earned the right to vote on a school wide reward.

Students have just a couple more weeks to accumulate points for their house until our second House Champion will be crowned. Unity and Valor are engaged in a very close battle for first, or will Radiance come from behind to repeat as House Champions? Or will Harmony or Honor come from behind and pull it out? Encourage your kids to be Respectful, Responsible, Safe and Kind to earn points to help their house win!
