The Lion's Roar
January 16, 2026
Happy Friday families!
Sadly the cold weather has returned and once again we are braving the chill. Hopefully the temperatures will increase and the snow and ice will only happen on the weekends–we really miss our students on snow days!
This week we had our first winter activities Monday and it went well. Although there were some obstacles, the kids did extremely well and had an amazing time. I did hear lots of complaining though on Tuesday about how tired they were. :)
Monday there is no school so we may celebrate the life of Martin Luther King Jr. Enjoy your long weekend and we'll see all students back on Tuesday! Monday the 26th we’ll be off campus again for winter activities. Please check out the pictures below from this week.
With love & gratitude,
Mrs. MacQueen

School Meals
The Kingdom East School District provides several opportunities for students to access healthy and nutritional food before, during, and after school. Dependent on federal grant funding, pre K-8th grade students receive fresh fruit and veggie snacks during the week, and students up to age 18 who stay after school receive a free after school supper. Breakfasts and lunches are free this year for all students. The Abbey Food Service Group currently provides delicious, nutritious, and high quality meals to students and staff.
Even though meals are now free to all students, our schools still need to gather household income data. Help us provide the best education possible for your children. Filling out this form only takes a few minutes. It will help your community, your school and your property taxes. The information you give helps your school access federal and state education dollars. This funding supports reading, math, science, arts, PE, afterschool and other vital programming. 2025-2026 Household Income Form
