Data Privacy

Rule of Thumb: If the student is asked to sign in, the app must get approved first!

In an effort to protect the privacy of our students, our tech team is working diligently to review apps/software for classroom use and determine which ones are acceptable and adhere to our privacy policies.

Please visit the district website to view the list of apps that have been approved/unapproved. Click Here to view the recent list.

If you do not see an application on the list that you would like to use in the classroom, please fill out a Software Request Form. IT will review the app and notify you if it has been approved/unapproved.

Report Inappropriate Websites

If you notice or hear of an inappropriate website please submit a ticket to IT.

  1. Sign into the Service Desk and select New Incident Request.
  2. For Category, select Internet. For Sub Category, select Block Site.
  3. Provide a Subject.
  4. Enter the URL(s) of inappropriate site(s) within the description box.
  5. Be sure to add your room number.
  6. Select Add Request.

Phishing Email Awareness

An email containing a link that directs you to provide your username and password is a PHISHING attempt to steal your credentials. The cyber-attacker designs the email so that it appears that the email is from someone that you know.

Before following the links, always check the sender's email, the signature line and hover over the links to determine if they are legitimate. If you are in question, best practice is to contact IT.

Click on the image below to test your ability to spot a Phishing Attempt.

Self-Service Password Management

If you have not already done so, please enroll in the self-service password management system.

This service will allow you to reset your network password, unlock your network account and change your password without the assistance of IT.

Grade 1 - Emily Cyr

Digital Listening Center for Students

  • The teacher recorded audio for books used in the classroom and generated a QR code for each recording.
  • She printed and placed the QR code inside the cover of the book so it is easily accessible to students who need it.
  • Students are now able to read at their own pace.

Click Here to view Emily's "How To" instructions.

Grade 7 World Language - Rebecca Aubrey

Travel Via Green Screen
  • The student task was to "travel" to a Spanish speaking country to do a weather forecast for a three day period.
  • Students used a green screen (simple green table cloth will do) and WeVideo to create the weather forecast.
  • Students were able to incorporate images from the culture they were "visiting."
  • The project incorporated core standards for World Languages (communication, connections and cultures).
  • Students were highly engaged!

Click Here to learn how to Green Screen with WeVideo.

If you would like to learn how to use WeVideo and how to set up your students with a district account, please contact Ed Duclos or Debbie Matchett.

High School Music - Jeremiah Crowley

Learning Map
  • The teacher created a learning map for his Guitar & Electronic Music Class using Google Drawings.
  • The map includes information on classroom expectations and important information pertaining to the class.
  • The teacher explains everything once via video.
  • The students are able to progress thru the learning map at their own pace and review as many times as needed.

Click Here to gain access to a template of Jeremiah's learning map. Everything is editable. Modify the template to meet your needs.

If you would like to try any of these Spotlights in your classroom but need support, please reach out to Ed Duclos or Debbie Matchett.
