Letter from the Principal

Tiger Families,

Our students showed up strong today with helping restock the Community Interfaith Food Pantry. St. Teresa students donated 1270+ items totaling 950 pounds of food and toiletries.

Congratulations to Mrs. Petty's 5th grade class for brining in 264 items. They are the winners of class challenge!

Thank you to everyone who participated. The Community Interfaith Food Pantry is in critical need of items and your donation made a HUGE impact! Did you know that St. Teresa School has a garden? All items gathered from the garden are donated to the Community Interfaith Food Pantry to allow members in our community to have fresh vegetables. Giving back to our community is an important aspect to being a TIGER!

Next week is the beginning of IOWA Testing. It is important for students to take the exam seriously and do their best, as the results are used to inform instruction and help classes identify areas where students may need additional support.

The following strategies will best support your child during the exam:

1. Encourage a regular sleep schedule: Make sure your child is getting enough sleep, especially the night before the test. It can be helpful to establish a regular bedtime routine in the days leading up to the assessment to ensure they are well-rested and alert. Make sure that your child arrives on time.

2. Provide a healthy breakfast: Eating a nutritious breakfast can help fuel your child’s brain and provide them with the energy they need to focus during the test. Consider offering whole grains, protein, and fresh fruit for a balanced meal.

3. Promote a positive attitude: Encourage your child to do their best, but also remind them that it’s okay to make mistakes. A positive attitude can help your child feel more confident and perform better on the assessment.

4. Help them with test-taking strategies: Discuss test-taking strategies with your child, such as reading instructions carefully, managing their time, and reviewing their work. This can help feel more prepared and confident during the test.

5. Provide support and encouragement: Make sure your child knows that you are there to support them and encourage them throughout the testing period. Celebrate their efforts and progress, regardless of the outcome of the assessment.

As always, we thank you for sharing your student with us. We appreciate your trust, support, and partnership. TIGERS LEAD THE WAY!

TIGERS TOGETHER FOR ADAM!

Sincerely,

Nicole Green
