The Lion's Roar
August 28, 2026
A Note From Mr. Hulsey:
As we are wrapping up the month of August, I would like to brag about our teachers and students. I am constantly in classrooms for observations, tours, or just to talk to a teacher or student. What I see as I come in unannounced is our staff teaching and challenging the kids and our students are on task, engaged, and behaving.
We are very pleased with the start of the year, and God blessed us with three more students this week to put us at 21 students over last year's total. We are not just working to ensure that September and the following months go well, but we are busy preparing for the start of the 2027-28 school year as well.
As always, remember that we are in partnership with our families and please reach out if we can be of any help. Hope everyone has a great weekend and we'll see you Monday.
Prayer and Praise in the Lion's Den
If you have a need you’d like others to pray for, or a blessing or answered prayer you’d like to celebrate, we invite you to submit it. This is a great way for our community to support one another and rejoice together.

-Emily Rigdon - For God to give Emily age-appropriate language and social skills
-Cindy Hollings and Family - Health
-Frank Sullivan (Pa) - Health
-Krystle Wigley- Needs a miracle. Mom of two of our preschoolers - Battling cancer
-Mr. Joseph Powell - Needs a miracle. Grandfather of two of our students. Battling pancreatic cancer
-Trinity Greenwood - K5 - will have oral surgery in September. Please pray for sweet Trinity.
-Ann Stephens - Stefanie Carroll's mom- Please pray for her, as she has had a reaction to a preventative cancer treatment she was on.
ACS Has Talent - Meet Kathleen Campbell
Kathleen has a huge heart for animals and volunteers to help train service dogs for people with disabilities, as well as for search and rescue services. On days she can, she also enjoys surgery days, shadowing the Veterinarian and helping prep patients by giving them hugs before surgery and watching the procedure. Kathleen is learning a lot and loving every minute of what she does.

Upper School Retreat
Our Upper School students kicked off the school year with a special three-day retreat filled with team-building, worship, fellowship, and fun! This intentional time together helped students and faculty build stronger relationships, grow closer as a community, and establish a strong spiritual foundation for the year ahead. Students returned encouraged, connected, and ready for a great year at ACS!
Thank you to all the teachers and especially Mrs. Petrovic for capturing pictures and videos!
