April 2026 Newsletter: Message from Dr. Fay, Ms. Henson & Mrs. Tutterrow
Dear Crossroads Community,
We'd like to say thank you to everyone who attended our Crossroads Bugs, Books and Brilliant Creations Night. Mr. Rohde, Mrs. Flaiz, Mrs. Smith and the entire special area team did a great job putting on a wonderful community event that showed off our student art and the talents of Mr. Rohde's bugs scene in the gym. What a wonderful turnout we had!
Below this section is the information about our important parent survey: MRA (Measurable Results Assessment). We encourage all of you to fill out the survey so we can see the areas of growth and areas of opportunity. Please spend a few moments to give us the necessary feedback to help us with our future planning.
It is the last quarter of the 2025-2026 school year. Let's all show grit and determination all the way to the last day of school. We've got this!
Please always reach out if you have any questions or concerns. Thank you!
Have an amazing April!
Dr. Damian Fay, Ms. Kristen Henson & Mrs. Aleisha Tutterrow
P.S. Please remember, if you arrive at school to drop off your child after 8:35 AM, you must go to the front doors near the flagpole and walk them in. Thank you!
SPRING MEASURABLE RESULTS SURVEY
Crossroads parents and families, please take some time to complete this important parent survey MRA Family Spring Survey 2026. The survey will close April 30, 2026.

The survey will be facilitated by Leader In Me in partnership with the WSD and will help us look at year-over-year trends. This link is unique to our building, so if you have kids in multiple schools, please check their newsletter to answer questions for that building.

Leader In Me: School - Home Connection
We are excited to share The 7 Habits of Highly Effective Families" Bingo Challenge! This interactive activity is designed to help you bring the principles of leadership and effectiveness into your home in a fun, manageable way.
The Bingo board is packed with simple, meaningful activities—like sharing a family meal, setting goals together, or practicing "Seek First to Understand." Whether it’s a quick discussion during a car ride or a dedicated family night, each square is an opportunity to strengthen your bond and practice the habits we are learning at school.
How to Play:
Pick a Square: Choose any activity on the board to complete as a family.
Connect: Discuss the habit associated with the task.
Mark it Off: Once finished, mark the square! See if you can get five in a row or even go for a "blackout."
We can't wait to hear about the "Win-Win" moments and "Synergy" happening in your homes. Let’s lead together!
Cruising Into Kindergarten
Get to know your child's new elementary school at Cruising Into Kindergarten. The goal of this event is to help incoming kindergartners become more familiar with their new school, and to help ease kindergarten jitters with a fun, interactive tour. Your child may even make some new friends along the way! School staff will be in attendance to share information about your child's new school.
This special event is for incoming kindergartners and their parents/guardians only, no siblings please. The event will begin promptly at 6:00 PM, ending no later than 7:00 PM.
Crossroads Elementary will hold their event on April 16.
Please register for this event at Cruising Into Kindergarten.

Message From Nurse Teresa
Hello!
As we enter spring, we begin another allergy season. If your student suffers from allergies, there isn’t a lot we can give them at school to help alleviate symptoms. If they usually take seasonal allergy medication at home, this would be a good time to start giving it to them. Encourage your kids to wash their hands after coming indoors and avoid touching their face/eyes to avoid experiencing symptoms.
Dental Visits This Semester
Big Smiles came to CRE on 3/30/26 - 4/1/26 and provided dental care to students whose parents signed consent forms at the beginning of the year. If you would like your child to participate in this program in the future, look for the permission forms that will go out at the beginning of next year.

Registration for Wentzville Early Childhood
2026-27 PreK Enrollment Opens:
Feb. 9-13: Currently enrolled and returning Pre-K families and WSD employees.
Feb. 23: All Wentzville School District residents.
To enroll in our tuition-based preschool program, students must be 3 years old by July 31 of the year they are starting preschool.
In past years, families could choose their Early Childhood location. This year, your child’s Early Childhood site will be determined by your home address. Your address falls within an elementary school attendance boundary, and that boundary determines which Early Childhood location your child will attend. If you are unsure which elementary school serves your address, you can find it using the District’s interactive boundary map.
Early Childhood Locations by Elementary School Boundary:
Barfield: Boone Trail, Crossroads, Discovery Ridge, Duello, Green Tree, Prairie View
Samuelson: Heritage, Journey, Lake View, Peine Ridge, Stone Creek, Wabash
For more information or to register, please visit the District enrollment webpage.
Registration for Kindergarten
Kindergarten Enrollment for the 2026-2027 school year.
All children who will turn five before Aug. 1, 2026, are eligible to attend kindergarten for the 2026-27 school year.
For more information or to register, please visit the District Website.
Arrival and Dismissal - Please Read Carefully
Morning Drop-Off Procedures
Drop-off is from 8:20 a.m. to 8:35 a.m. Doors close promptly at 8:35 a.m. If you arrive after this time, please bring your student to the front office to sign them in.
To keep the line moving efficiently, we ask that drivers remain in their vehicles while staff assist students.
Walkers may enter through the front or primary hallway entrances. All parents and visitors must enter through the front doors and sign in at the office.
If you need to bring your child into the building, please use the main parking lot. Parking in the diagonal bus zone slots is strictly prohibited.
Afternoon Pick-Up Procedures
All car riders and daycare van riders will go to the gym at the end of the day. Once in the gym, a staff member will call students’ names over the radio for them to come out to meet their vehicle. A staff member will escort students to each car.
Important: Parents are no longer allowed to walk up to pick up their children. Please use the car pick-up line.
Bright blue car tags will be distributed at Meet-the-Teacher Night. If you are unable to attend, tags will be sent home with students on the first day of school. Please check with the office if you need a car tag. USE A THICK MARKER TO FILL THESE OUT.
When driving through the car lanes, please display the bright blue car tag on your dashboard where names can be easily seen. If you do not have a car tag, staff will need to check your ID, contact the office for clearance, and then call your child. This process slows down pick-up for everyone.
A few additional reminders:
Dismissal changes will not be accepted after 3:00 p.m.
Student safety is our top priority. Because 3:20 p.m. is a busy time, we cannot allow office checkouts after 3:20 p.m. Please plan accordingly.
If your child is a walker but will become a car rider due to inclement weather, you are responsible for notifying the school. We no longer send text messages about rainy-day dismissals.
