Phalen Flyer
PLA@George H. Fisher School 93
Greetings PLA Families,
Teachers and staff have been studying the data from our middle of the year NWEA & ILEARN Checkpoint assessments. We are happy to see growth in some areas of reading & language arts and math. Our scholars are hard workers! This information is valuable to us as it helps us to understand the academic needs of your child moving forward.
As a reminder, scholars will not attend school on Monday, February 16th in observance of the President's Day holiday.
On February 25th we will hold our spring Parent's in Touch (PIT) day. Scholars will have e-learning work to complete. Teachers will be reaching out to you to schedule a time to discuss your child's progress if they are at risk of retention. You may also let your child's teacher know that you would like to meet with them even if your child is not at risk.
I have included pictures of some of our classrooms that participated in our door decorating contest to honor Black History Month.
Our community spotlight this week is CAFE.
Finally, there is information about Skilled US in this flyer. Skilled US is our adult career training program. It is open to ALL family members of our PLA scholars. If you or someone you know is interested in a new career or furthering their education, please reach out to us.
Please don't hesitate to reach out to us with any questions! Have a great weekend!
Sincerely,
Mr. Hendricks
Principal-PLA@93
