November Meeting

Unfortunately we had to reschedule our November meeting due to illness. We will replace the November meeting with one on February 17th at Stacey's home. We will be assembling the toiletries, washcloths, and towels for the Capital Area Violence Intervention Center at that time. Info for December meeting is below.

Event Information

December Meeting

The next meeting will be at Susan's home, which is always decorated so beautifully for Christmas. She requests that members bring a salad or a sweet to go with the finger sandwiches she will be serving. Members should also bring at least one $25 valued item for the auction and/or at least $25 for bidding. It's always a fun time and a great opportunity to pick up a few gifts or home decor items. Proceeds will go to the OLOL Children's Hospital.

Altruistic Projects Altruistic Projects

Sisters Helping Sisters Project (UPDATED)

We are planning a winter project to help the Capital Area Family Violence Intervention Center. They are in need of basic toiletries and also towels. We are going to fill like new Ipsy bags with sample size essentials such as toothbrush, toothpaste, deodorant, shampoo, conditioner, floss, small comb, etc. The bags are approximately 7.5 x 4 inches. We have about 40 bags that we can fill. The center will gladly take any extra supplies or full size items that won't fit into the bags, so if you prefer to donate full size items or if you can't find sample size items, full size will be fine. They are also in need of new bath towels. We will assemble the toiletry sets and place with a towel at the February 17th meeting. If you have any questions, call or text Stacey at 225-963-4394.

Greater Baton Rouge Food Bank

At every meeting, each sister is expected to wear her Alpha Delta Kappa badge. If you forget to wear it, you should donate at least $1.00 to the "pot", which will be donated to the food bank in addition to donations from members that will be collected in November and March.

OLOL Children's Hospital

We raised $150 for the Children's Hospital by raffling a gift basket at Founders' Day. Thanks to everyone who contributed to the basket and/or bought a ticket and to Debbie for putting it together. We will also raise funds for the hospital with a gift card tree raffle at the state convention and from the proceeds of our annual Christmas auction.

Christmas Auction

Our annual Christmas auction is coming up next month. You will need to bring at least a $25 gift (item to be auctioned) or bring $25 to spend. Of course, more is welcome! You may bring as many gifts as you would like and spend as much money as possible! :) This is always fun and entertaining and a chance to grab a few Christmas gifts, home decor items, etc. All proceeds will go to the OLOL Children's Hospital.
