Is Your Child In School?

Colorado law requires that every child who is 6 years old on or before August 1 of the current school year, and under the age of 17, must attend school. Each year all public school districts and facilities across the state of Colorado participate in the Student October Count data submission to the Colorado Department of Education (CDE). The purpose of this data collection is to obtain required student level data as provided for by state statute, including information regarding students’ funding eligibility as outlined in the Public School Finance Act of 1994, as amended (22-54-101, C.R.S.). Official Pupil Count Day is Monday October 2, 2023. We encourage you to get your student enrolled at Mitchell as soon as possible. See the section below if you need assistance.

College and Career Readiness

Our Vision

"Our vision is to operate in a culture that builds, maintains, and restores trust as defined by sincerity, competence, reliability, and care; to offer a first-class school to our community that prepares all students for post-secondary readiness, college and career."

48 students have applied for Mitchell Promise Scholarship and are eligible based upon the required GPA!

Peak Education

We are excited to announce that Mitchell High School and Peak Education have solidified our partnership. Peak Education will work with two cohorts at Mitchell HS. Incoming 9th graders and 10th graders. Please review the flyer below. The minimum qualifications are listed in the flyer below with one exception, the minimum GPA for consideration is 2.7 or higher. If you are interested in having your student considered for this opportunity, please contact Valerie Jordan, Project Manager at 719-328-6608 or valerie.jordan@d11.org.

Student Life

Extracurricular activities provide a channel for reinforcing the lessons learned in the classroom, offering students the opportunity to apply academic skills in a real-world context, and are thus considered part of a well-rounded education. Recent research suggests that participation in extracurricular activities may increase students' sense of engagement or attachment to their school, and thereby decrease the likelihood of school failure and dropping out. All January student involvement will be celebrated in this issue.
