A Message from Principal Cutone
September 26, 2025
Dear HES Parents and Caregivers,
It was wonderful seeing so many of you and your Sharks at our Curriculum Nights. The energy and pride in our school were truly on display, and we were thrilled to share a glimpse of the incredible work happening in our classrooms. A strong partnership between home and school is the foundation for every child's success, and your support makes all the difference.
Please don't hesitate to reach out if you need anything at all. We're here to help!
Wishing you all a fantastic weekend.
My best,
Christie

Join Your Shark for Lunch
We would love to have you join us for lunch one day! It's a wonderful chance to meet your child's friends and spend a little mid-day time connecting with them.
To reserve your spot on any day of the week, please complete this form.
To ensure a smooth and secure visit for everyone:
Upon Arrival: Please sign in at the main office when you get here.
After Lunch: We kindly ask that you return directly to the front office to sign out before you depart. To help the afternoon classes begin promptly and with minimal distraction, please do not accompany your child back to the classroom.
Thank you for your cooperation—we look forward to seeing you! 😊
Notes from Nurse Janie
Hopefully, the sun comes out a bit over the weekend so the kids can run around and play outside. It was so nice to see so many of you at Curriculum Night.
I have been going through all of the Health History and Over the Counter Consent forms that were filled out when you completed your Returning Student Registration in Aspen (or New Student Registration). I am missing a lot of them. If you could please check your child's student registration for this year and look for the Health History Form and the OTC Consent and fill them out. Even if you do not want your child to receive OTC meds at school please fill it out. This lets us know that it was not overlooked. These documents need to be filled out each year.
We have seen a couple of cases of Hand Foot and Mouth disease around school. This is a contagious viral process which often starts with a sore throat and fever. A few days later blisters form on the palms of the hands, the soles of the feet, and sides of the mouth. Anyone who comes down with this they will need to stay home until the blisters are all closed. They also must be fever free (less than 100.4 for 24 hrs without fever reducing medicine) before returning. If you have any questions feel free to email or call me. Anyone who is pregnant or immunocompromised should be aware if they are exposed.
I have received almost all medications. Thank you so much for getting them to us. If you still have not brought them in please let me know if you will be or if something has changed.

Call the Attendance Line If Your Shark Is Absent
Per the handbook, if your child is unable to attend school, please enter the absence in PickUp Patrol and/or call our designated attendance line, 617-848-0115, as early as possible. Soon after arrival, our office staff begins to call the caregivers of absent students if we haven't already heard from them. This is important, as we want to ensure that all students are safe. Your phone message with the reason for the absence is all we need. While an email to the teacher is helpful, it sometimes doesn't make its way to the office staff. Thank you for your help!
Staff Shoutouts Wanted
Our faculty and staff are amazing – and we want them to get recognized for the great work they do! Each month, we will feature a staff member in our Staff Shoutout series. Staff members can be nominated by students, parents/caregivers, and colleagues for outstanding positive contributions to our schools using the simple form at www.monomoy.edu/staffshoutout.
