Hi everyone! I can't wait to see everyone on Wednesday morning! Just a reminder that we want to start as close to 9 am as possible to please arrive on time. The day is roughly planned as Webinar at 9am for Faith Development, lunch at noon and then COVID protocol training at 1pm until about 2:30 (maybe earlier!) We will be set up in the gym, physically distanced at the tables (similar to planning day), I would recommend wearing masks when we are moving about the gym. We will set up lunch outdoors, you might want to bring your folding chairs :)

A few questions I wanted to address:

1. Portable air conditioning units: Yes you can still use them. Please make sure the intake/outtake hoses are properly connected so the air circulation works properly. They cannot be used if the hoses are not working. You can use fans but please try and have them pointed near a window for proper air circulation. The ventilation system is being checked in the gym and annex as they have ventilations that require filtration. The main building does not, as we have a boiler system (Point 1 for old building!!!)

2. Subs: In the event you are away, there is strong possibility you are away for two weeks. I will be contacting subs to see what their plan is. My hope is that we can have one or two subs who will commit to only working in our school so that there is less cross contamination with another school.

I will also double check that policy. I believe it is the CDC or Workplace who said if you show any COVID symptoms you are to be away for 10 days or until the symptoms subside, what ever is longer.

That being said, day plans for teachers and EAs will be crucial as you may be way for an extended time.

Starting today, staff check ins (symptom assessment) will be done online on Google forms. The link will be on the Monday memos. This will allow us to track it. You will need to complete it once a week and if there are ANY changes to any of the answers, you must notify the office immediately. If you prefer the pen and paper method, they are available at the front door. Please fill it in and put in my box at the office.

We have decided to do a Virtual Back to School Night. I will ask each classroom teacher to do a short video (max 5 minutes) for us to post. Please be ready to send home any important information such as your class schedule, expectations, etc on that day for parents. Anyone who wants to meet with your physically will have to schedule time with you after school (but I think this will be rare... I won't even post it on the parent newsletter).

We are ordering staff IDs this year. There are a lot of us who are new and with masks on our faces, I want the students to be able to recognize us and feel safe around us. Please make sure you get your photo take on picture day-- Sept 18.
