Have a Happy & Safe Holiday Season!

Christmas Break will be December 23-January 3, 2025.

School reopens on Monday, January 6, 2025.

Goal Notes:

Attendance Goal: The Vermilion Parish and the JOES attendance goal is 95%. Not one grade level made the 95% attendance goal for the month of November. I know we can do better for December. In order to learn students must be at school.

Reading Goal: DIBELS is a screener given 3 times a year Beginning, Middle and End of the year. To improve on DIBELS students need practice reading. AR is a reading program where students read and take a test to earn points. Each grade has an AR goal but to get the points they must score at least an 80% on the test. The above AR Average % correct is for the month of November by grade level. Congratulations to Grade 1 with 89% accuracy on their AR tests!!

Math Goal: The parish goal is that a student complete 3 or more Zearn Lessons per week. Above is the percent of students that completed 3 or more lessons in a week for the month of November. Congratulations to Grade 1 with 98% of the students completing 3 or more Zearn Lessons each week for the month of November!!

Uniform Policy Reminder:

The following comes directly from the VPSB Student & Parent Handbook page 12. (Button above)

Please note that any coat can be worn to and from school and outside at recess. We do not have many cold winter days to justify paying for a specific color big coat. BUT in the classroom the colors are noted and need to be followed or students will be told to take them off in the classroom. If you are unable to find a solid color sweatshirt/zip jacket please get with us - we have extras at school.
