Solar Eclipse - Monday, April 8th
Many people have reached out to share plans about viewing the upcoming Solar Eclipse. If your child will be doing something on this day to view the solar eclipse, it will be marked an excused absence. Here is why: Solar Eclipses are exciting astronomical events that can provide a great opportunity for teachers and students to learn about the science of astronomy and explore the beauty of the natural world. Please submit a note in order for the absence to be marked excused.
Movie Night at FSMA
Join us for our Spring Movie Night, hosted by the FSMA Middle School!
Bring a blanket, wear your jammies, and come find a space on the gym floor to watch, Cars 2. The cost per person is $5 per person (payable through our FSMA online payment system) and all children must be accompanied by an adult. Doors open at 6:00 p.m. and the movie starts at 6:30 p.m.
Snacks will be available for purchase (cash only).
Remember, FSMA's "Away All Day" Policy applies to students at all FSMA events. That means come and watch the movie, and leave your devices/cell phones at home.
Take Your Child to Work Day
On this day, parents are encouraged to “take their child to work with them.” The intent of this day is to inspire young dreamers to dream big… and to inspire them to dream of themselves in a variety of roles and in a variety of places. As a school, we see great value in exposing our children to different work environments and helping them to visualize their future. Because of this, student absences for “Take Your Child to Work Day” will be excused (a note must be submitted noting the child’s participation in this day).
Looking Ahead:
Just a reminder that end of the year events are on the school calendar on our website (link below).
An update about Field Day... this year, we will encourage families who want to come to Field Day to volunteer. We will not be inviting spectators to travel with classes or sit on the sidelines. There are lots of reasons this makes the event better for children and we really want you to come, but in the capacity of a volunteer. More information to come but we wanted to let you know about this change early so you can plan to volunteer!
