Keeping it Real

Dear SJHS Families,

I had hoped to be able to send out this information sooner (since quarter 1 ended October 9), but to "keep it real" getting everything figured out took a little longer than we had planned. Since first quarter ended, we have been working to find a way to recognize student success. With some new processes and lots of programming, we are now able to calculate students' quarter grade point average (instead of just semester or cumulative).

So, without further ado, we are proud to recognize students who earned a spot on our Quarter 1 Academic Honor Roll. This recognition honors students who have demonstrated strong academic performance, commitment to learning, and consistent effort throughout the quarter. Out of 264 students enrolled at St. Johns High School, 104 students earned Academic Honor Roll recognition, representing an impressive 39.4% of our student body. This achievement reflects the determination and commitment our students bring to their education, the hard work and support of teachers, and the encouragement of families. We are incredibly proud of their success.

We will also be introducing recognition for students who have demonstrated outstanding attendance. While grades are important, regular attendance is one of the strongest indicators of student success. Each day in school provides valuable opportunities to learn, collaborate, build relationships, and stay on track toward graduation and future goals. Our Quarter 1 Attendance Honor Roll recognizes students who consistently make school attendance a priority and demonstrate a commitment to being present and engaged in their learning.

Whether students earned recognition for academic achievement, exceptional attendance, or both, these accomplishments deserve to be celebrated. Success does not happen by accident. It is the result of daily choices, hard work, persistence, and support from families, teachers, and staff members who encourage students every step of the way.

As the year progresses, we not only plan to recognize students' exceptional academic and attendance accomplishments each quarter, but we also plan to reward students who make progress and growth in both areas throughout the school year.

Congratulations to all of our Quarter 1 honorees! Thank you for setting a positive example for your classmates and helping make St. Johns High School a place where achievement, growth, and excellence are valued and celebrated.

With appreciation,
Mrs. Mo

To: SJHS 12th Grade Students & Parents,

I am happy to announce a new scholarship platform created for our school that will keep SJHS students/families informed of national and local scholarship opportunities directly related to SJHS students. This new program will help bridge the communication gap and get important scholarship information out to all families.

You should have received an email (students and parents). If you did not, contact me directly so I can resend the invitation to sign up. Please click the link in that email and on the webpage, click connect with Rick Johnson. Follow the directions to create your free account. I will be able to see a student's interest and progress and help them create a specific scholarship list that directly pertains to each student. This platform will also keep track of deadlines.

Please let me know if you have any questions or concerns.

Thank you,

Mr. Johnson

Boys' & Girls' Soccer Region Champs Boys' & Girls' Soccer Region Champs

Congratulations to SJHS Soccer!

Both our boys' and girl's soccer teams beat Blueridge (game held in the RV Dome, due to weather) and ended the season as Region Champs! This is the second year in a row that the girls have gone undefeated during the regular season.

Additionally, both teams are ranked #1 in the state going into play-offs, which means we will have home field advantage.

  • Boys will play their first round at home on Tuesday, October 27 at 6:00PM (vs Pima).
  • Girls get a bye their first round and will play in the semifinals at home on Thursday, October 29 at 5:00Pm (opponent TBD).
