Nebo School District is always trying to improve communication. The new tool called Rooms is available in the Nebo District App. This app allows you to have two-way parent-teacher conversations and is a great way to keep up with classroom events and announcements. On the app you will have access to:

• Live feed updates

• District and school news

• Upcoming events

• Access to breakfast and lunch menus

• Push notifications for important and urgent announcements

• Classroom announcements, reminders about coursework, and materials

• Automatic translation

You don’t need another app or tool; you can find it all in our new Nebo School District app. The app is free; you can search for it in the Play Store and App Store!

Thank you so much for your generosity during our PTA fundraiser. Parents and Students helped raise enough money that the students received all the rewards available including: Anything but a Backpack Day, Extra Lunch Recess, and having the admin dress up like characters from Cinderella. We really appreciate your support which really helps our PTA do amazing things for the students and teachers at SCMS. They provide books for our PACK leaders, run the literacy week, provide meals for teachers on SEP nights, supplement school T-shirts and so much more! Thanks PTA and Thanks Parents!

On Thursday November 21, 2024, we will have second term SEP conferences. We look forward to meeting you and sharing all of your child's successes and creating a plan for their continued success at SCMS. Teachers will be available in the gym and cafeteria from 3:45 to 8:00 PM.

If they have not been paid yet, school fees need to be paid ASAP! You can do so by contacting the finance office at 801-609-2400, or you can go to myschoolfees

We are honoring Veterans at SCMS on Monday November 11th We would love to have art displayed throughout the hallways that represent this year's Veterans Day Theme of "Legacy of Loyalty and Service."

Here are the guidelines:

• Think of the theme, “Veterans a Legacy of Loyalty and Service” and create a work of art that represents the theme.
• Make sure it is respectful (no graphic violent scenes)
• Make sure it honors our Veterans
• The art piece needs to be at least 8x10. We want people to be able to see it and the detail you have worked so hard to create. It can be bigger but 8x10 is the minimum size.
• Due to Ms. Blakely or Ms. Elliott by November 8th.

Here at SCMS, we spend a significant amount of time helping students learn how to "do" middle school - how to navigate multiple teachers and multiple classes and keep organized. We think these skills will help each student transition to a secondary setting successfully. A big part of this is teaching students how to use Infinite Campus and Canvas as a tool to help them be successful. Each term, during the middle of the term and right before the end of the term, each teacher has a specific PACK day within a week of PACK days where he/she guides the students through how to launch Infinite Campus, how to see what assignments may be missing, how to complete those assignments and/or turn them in, and how to become proficient in any missing skills. These weeks are always extra productive here at school! Our next week of PACK days is coming up November 11-15 as midterm is here!

Tuesday: Disney Day - Wear your favorite Disney Gear

Wednesday: Fall Fashion Day: Wear your favorite fall colors!

Thursday: College Sports Day: Sport gear from your favorite team!

Friday: Wear your blue or silver spirit wear!

This year teachers have put a hashtag on the assignments in Infinite Campus that are crucial to showing that students understand the content being learned. All assignments are important, but the hashtags really help students and their parents understand which are most important to demonstrate mastery of the topics students are learning in their classes.
