Monarch Girls’ Basketball teams bounced back last week
On Wednesday, all three teams traveled to face a highly-ranked Northfield High School. While the Lady Nighthawks ultimately took the win, Monarch played with heart and determination throughout the night.
On Tuesday, the JV team got the night started on the right foot when they came out aggressive and confident. With sharp shooting and tough defense, the JV team got the win. The varsity game was very exciting with multiple lead changes and both teams locked in. Offensive and defensive contributions from players on the court and high energy from the bench kept Monarch in the game. Ginger Milot went coast to coast and hit a fast break layup with just 8 seconds left to secure the win 41-40.
Thursday night’s games were not as competitive but were invaluable. Thursday’s JV and varsity games against Legacy helped continue to boost morale and confidence for both teams as they extended their win streaks to two games.
The only home game this coming week is on Wednesday when the C team hosts Silver Creek with tip off at 6pm. Please come show your support!
All three teams will travel to Niwot on Tuesday and Fairview on Thursday. Both Tuesday and Thursday’s games will follow one another with JV tip off at 4, varsity at 5:30 and C team at 7pm. The Monarch Girls’ Basketball teams hope that you can make the trip to these important league games!
