AVA Family Update
November 1, 2024
Good afternoon AVA Students and Families,
I have three items of note this week.
1. There will be no school Tuesday, but students can use this time to catch-up or try and get ahead. Students can email me that day if they need something unlocked.
2. Trimester grades will be posted next Wednesday.
3. We have MCAS retesting on Wednesday and Thursday. I've already reached out to those we expect to see (thank you to those who responded to my request for confirmation) and I will send one more reminder on Monday.
I didn't hear from anyone about attending the Homecoming Dance last week, and if you want to go, you need to email ASAP at this point.
Thank you for your time.

Afterschool Clubs and Activities List
The AHS Student Activities Office has updated its list of afterschool clubs and activities. Please find a digital copy HERE. New student clubs this year include Knitting and Crocheting club, Writing club, and Step Team (dance). Feel free to email Ms Nellie if you'd like assistance reaching out to club advisors. Most afterschool clubs are generally held once a week from about 2-3pm.
Naviance
In the coming weeks during Mr Holmes' Advisory, AVA Guidance will help students explore the below Naviance surveys and activities to facilitate the post-secondary process. We encourage all AVA students to utilize Naviance throughout high school. Any student may still email Ms Nellie (below) anytime if you forget your Naviance password.
