Back To School in True Bulldawg Fashion and Spirit!
🎉 Congratulations on Completing Your First Full Week!
We did it, Bulldawgs! The first full week of the 2025–2026 school year is in the books, and what an incredible start it has been. From the moment students walked through the doors, there’s been a positive energy flowing through every hallway, classroom, and cafeteria. Thank you to our students for showing up each day with enthusiasm, to our families for your continued partnership, and to our dedicated staff for setting the tone with excellence and care.
It’s been a week of fresh routines, first lessons, new friendships, and plenty of #BulldawgPride. Our teachers and leaders have already begun planting the seeds for academic and personal growth, and students are rising to the challenge. Whether it was the first time walking the halls at high school, a volleyball game, or a kind act in the lunch line, our schools are off to a strong and meaningful beginning.
Let’s carry this momentum forward into the weeks ahead. We’re building something special in Aberdeen, and every moment counts. Keep showing up, supporting one another, and leading with heart. We’re proud of this start, and even more excited about what’s still to come.

👣 First Steps Into a New Year
📸 Capturing Kids’ Hearts in Action at AES! 💛📚
Our amazing Specials team at Aberdeen Elementary School is leading the way with our new Capturing Kids’ Hearts initiative!
Students are actively participating in creating Social Contracts, answering questions like:
- How do you want to be treated by your teacher?
- How do you want to treat each other?
- How should we respond when there's conflict?
These sessions are helping students build a positive, respectful, and connected learning environment, not just in the classroom, but in all learning spaces like art, music, PE, and more.
We’re #SaddledUpForSuccess and committed to creating a culture where every student feels seen, heard, and valued.
🎓 Class of 2026 – The Last First Day
Our seniors walked into their final first day of high school with pride, excitement, and a few sentimental smiles. Here's to a year of making memories, leading with purpose, and finishing strong.
📚 Focused and Ready at Belle-Shivers

Our Busy Classroom 📚
Foundations of Algebra
Mr. Pearson's 9th-grade math students kicked off the year by creating posters showcasing the 8th-grade math skills they mastered last year. This was not just a review; it was an engaging, collaborative exercise where students actively helped one another recall and apply key processes.
The significance of this activity goes beyond colorful posters. It reflects a strong instructional strategy: reinforcing prior learning as a bridge to new material, building confidence from the start, and fostering a classroom culture of teamwork and peer support.
By beginning the year in this way, Mr. Pearson is ensuring students are not only ready for the rigor of high school math but also connected to one another as a learning community.
This is a great example of how our teachers are intentional from day one about setting students up for success.
🐾 This Week's Top Story
✈️ Flight Academy Takes Off, with Big News!
This week brought exciting updates from our Chief Pilot and Flight/Ground Instructor: not only is the Aberdeen School District Flight Academy officially up and running, but we’ve also been gifted hangars at the local airport to support the program’s growth.
Our students are already experiencing in-air instruction aboard the district’s aircraft, gaining real-time flight training and exposure to aviation careers right here in Aberdeen.
📸 Media Day is coming soon! We’ll be inviting community members and media outlets to see the program in action, meet our flight team, and hear directly from students. Stay tuned for more details.
