I can't believe we are almost at the end of another school year. The Woodland students have enjoyed learning about many wonderful musicians, including Darius Rucker. Darius, born on May 13, 1966 in Charleston, South Carolina, began singing around the house when he was young. His band, Hootie and the Blowfish, won 2 Grammy awards and sold more than 16 million units for their first album, Cracked Rear View. In 2008, Darius began his solo career by releasing a country album, Learn to Live. This album made him the first African-American singer to reach the top of the country charts since Charley Pride in 1988. Below, you will find some classic Hootie and the Blowfish songs as well as some of Rucker's country hits. Don't forget to check out the Spotify Playlist! Enjoy!
