Daniel Feeney Preschool Update
September 13, 2024
Our first full week of school was full of learning, play, building routines and community - your children are playing and working hard. As the weeks progress and as they continue to adjust to school, it is to be expected that they are more tired than usual (and perhaps more tears than usual). The importance of a good night's sleep is essential for young children and with a new school year starting this is an opportunity to create good bedtime routines. So enjoy your weekend and get plenty of rest, we look forward to welcoming you back on Monday.
Warm regards,
Julie Martin
Please Join us for our First PAC Meeting Wednesday 9/18 at 6 pm
I hope you can join me for our first PAC meeting of the school year. The Parent Advisory Council (PAC) is a parent led group who collaborate on school-wide events, fundraisers, and other things to enhance the learning and growth of our students. We will meet in a preschool classroom on Wednesday and if you plan to attend, please enter through the playground where I will meet you.
Learn more about the Walpole SEPAC on 10/8
This is a wonderful book, it explains how all of us are unique in our own way
DFP Friendship Directory
If you are interested in creating our 2024-2025 Friendship Directory, please contact me directly. This is a resource to connect families by providing information so you (and your kids) can make connections. Participation in the Friendship Directory is voluntary and a paper copy will be sent home with your child once it is complete.
Open House/Curriculum Night Monday, 9/30 at 6 pm
We look forward to hosting you and your child at our open house/curriculum night on Monday 9/30 at 6 pm. This is an opportunity to see the learning that is already taking place in our classrooms, learn more about our curriculum, and how play directly teaches and builds skills across the day.
Clothing and Footwear Reminders
Please label all of your child's clothing and be sure their footwear is appropriate for our playground . Sneakers or close toed shoes are best for running, jumping, playing, and riding tricycles.
Our FIRST Early Release is Friday 9/20 at 11:15
Our first early release day of the new school year is Friday 9/20. This procedure is the SAME as drop off procedure- a rolling pick up (do not park in spots in front of playground). Please allow for extra time and patience as we are dismissing the entire student population.
If your child is in Miss Jess's MORNING class, please attend school on Friday 9/20. There is NO SCHOOL for Miss Jess's afternoon class that day.
The Walpole 300th Anniversary Parade is 10/5
