Calendar of Events
****Parents who would like to volunteer as a chaperone or work with students must have a current background check. If you had one last year, that is still current for one calendar year. Appointments may be made, and this service is conducted at the Wilson Center. You can pay the $38 fee online through the Parent Portal.
Class Assignments
Parents will be able to log into the Parent Portal on Thursday, July 29, 2026, after 4:00 p.m., to see who their child's teacher will be. Class placement is a high priority for our staff, and we are very intentional about this process each year. Class changes after this date will only be made under specific circumstances.
Infinite Campus
For parents new to CSD, you will need to set up an account in the Parent Portal which is in our information system, Infinite Campus. Please click here to learn more about how to set up an account. Please reach out to Patrice Moore, District Registrar Enrollment Specialist, with any questions.
Westchester Family Handbook
Take a moment to familiarize yourself with our school handbook. It is full of information on attendance, PBIS (Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports), the progressive discipline policy, EL Education, etc.
Meet & Greet 7/30
Come see your classroom and meet your teachers! We look forward to seeing you on Thursday, July 30th from 9:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. This is a drop in visit!
Pick Up Patrol (PUP)
The communication tool, Pick Up Patrol, will be used again to provide transportation information. You can access the website on your phone. You should receive an email soon with more information, and we will make sure you are all set up by the first day of school. This will allow you to communicate any transportation and attendance changes through PickUp Patrol more conveniently.
First Day of School
We will welcome students on Monday, August 3, 2026. Our school hours are 8:20-2:50. Students may be dropped off in the mornings beginning at 8:00. Breakfast will be offered between 8:00 and 8:15 each morning. We will begin our morning Crew Meetings promptly at 8:20. Please plan for your child to arrive as close to 8:00 as possible so they are ready to start their school day.
Personal Electronic Devices
We encourage students to leave their personal electronic devices at home. Students who bring cell phones, smartwatches or other electronic devices will be expected to keep them in their bookbag and locker for the day. These devices are not to be used during the school day or on the bus.

🍏 Back to School Reminders🍎
Breakfast and Lunch: The nutrition department will offer 2 breakfast choices daily (cereal and another option). Lunch service will include 1 to 2 entrees and a daily PB&J option. For more information: CSD Nutrition. Click on the Link for Nutrition/Menus under the Families tab.
Thursday Communication: Parents will automatically receive the weekly CSD newsletter on Thursdays via email and text numbers they registered with CSD in the Parent Portal. Included in this communication is a link to our WE Weekly news. Please log in to the portal to confirm your email and cellphone number, and edit them if necessary. Grade-level news, student work, and miscellaneous forms will be in a blue communication folder in your child's book bag on Thursday after school.
Personal Belongings: Be sure to label all student items with their name. Many unclaimed items land in our lost and found each year. We ask that all toys and stuffed animals remain at home unless it is a special event communicated by your classroom teacher. If they are brought to school, teachers will direct students to keep them in their lockers and not bring them to school again.
The PTA works to enhance the educational experience of all WE students by supporting teachers and staff, organizing fundraisers for items not covered by the school budget, and planning and hosting community-building events. Through fundraising efforts, the PTA supports many offerings and initiatives, including classroom libraries, teacher and parent grants, field trips, facility enhancements, yearbooks for every student, and various community-building events.
Westchester School Leadership Team (SLT)
Our SLT is an important team created and guided by CSD’s charter. SLT members serve as an advisory body to inform school-level decision-making. Parent representatives serve a two-year term. It is important to have our community voice included. This year, we will hold an election as all members have completed their second year.
Reminders
School Lunch Policy: Please be sure to maintain a positive lunch balance for your child. This will help us avoid any unexpected lunch changes for students. Check your Parent Portal frequently to make sure your child has adequate funds for the cafeteria. You may also find the Parent Portal app (for Apple or Android) to be more convenient.
