Dear River Mill Families,
It was another wonderful week at River Mill! Yesterday, our 4th and 5th grade OBOB team—the Leader Readers—competed in the district competition against Clackamas River Elementary. It was an exciting and close match that came down to a tie-breaker question, ending 80-85. While Clackamas River took the win, we are incredibly proud of our students for their hard work, teamwork, and excellent sportsmanship. They represented River Mill with pride!
We also want to extend a heartfelt thank you to our amazing PTO for the incredible appreciation and love they showed our staff throughout Staff Appreciation Week. Your thoughtfulness truly means the world to us and helps keep our spirits high!
As we head into May Break, we hope all of our River Mill families enjoy a restful and joyful week together. We’ll see you back on Monday, May 19, ready to finish the school year strong!

This Week's Schedule!
In order to help you all know what the week looks like, we will list it out clearly for you each week. REID days are for invited students and will change each week. Students are invited to REID days for a variety of reasons. Sometimes it's to extend or challenge a student, and other times it might be to provide extra help on a particular skill. On those days, our doors open at 7:50 and dismissal is at 10:00am. If you have questions about this week's schedule, please let us know!

Presenters Needed!
River Mill Elementary is excited to offer our sixth annual school-wide career fair. The career fair is scheduled for the morning of Tuesday, June 3rd from 8:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.
We are looking for presenters who are eager to share their career paths with students. As you know, one of our priorities at River Mill Elementary School is to equip every student with the skills necessary to become competent, resourceful, and successful. In order to support this goal we are requesting that our presenters share the following information:
How do you use reading, writing, and math skills (or other school subjects) on your job?
How do you use technology in your career field?
What type of education and training is needed for advancement into the career area?
Describe your job duties.
Describe a typical work day.
What talents and skills are necessary for success in your career field?
What personal traits are helpful in your career?
Each presenter will deliver 4-7 presentations for approximately 20 minutes each as they rotate to different classrooms. If you are willing to be a presenter, use the link below to complete the form.

At River Mill, we want to ensure every student has the best opportunity to learn and grow each day. Recently, we’ve noticed an increase in tardies and early pick-ups, and we want to remind families how important it is for students to be at school on time and stay for the full day. Arriving late can cause students to miss important instruction, while leaving early means they may not get the full benefit of their learning time. Every minute in the classroom matters! We understand that occasional appointments and emergencies happen, but whenever possible, please schedule these outside of school hours. Thank you for your support in making sure your child gets the most out of their school day!
