A Message from Plummer Middle School

🐾 Gear Up for 8th Grade Week: Celebrating Our Pumas!

As the school year winds down, it’s time to celebrate the incredible journey of our 8th graders! We are so proud of our students as they prepare to leave Plummer Middle School and transition into high school. To honor their hard work and leadership, we are hosting a high-energy 8th Grade Week from Monday, May 18, through Friday, May 22.

We encourage all parents to help their students join in the fun by dressing up for our daily themes. Let’s make their final weeks at PMS truly unforgettable!

🗓️ Daily Dress Themes

  • Monday, May 18: Western/Culture Day – Wear your best western attire or proudly represent your heritage with traditional cultural fashion and colors.

  • Tuesday, May 19: Cartoon Character Day – Bring your favorite animated characters to life! Whether it’s anime, classic cartoons, or movie favorites, we want to see them all.

  • Wednesday, May 20: Tacky Day – The crazier, the better! Think mismatched patterns, wild colors, and goofy accessories.

  • Thursday, May 21: 70s Day – Time to groove! Break out the bell bottoms, tie-dye, and retro vibes.

  • Friday, May 22: Pajama Day – Roll out of bed and come to school comfy! We’ll also be hosting a Movie Day during 8th and 10th periods with popcorn and drinks provided.

🏆 Special Event: Superlative Awards Ceremony

On Thursday, May 21, we invite you to join us for the 8th Grade Superlative Awards Ceremony! We will be recognizing student personalities, leadership, and achievements in the School Cafeteria from 4:30 PM – 5:30 PM. Light refreshments will be provided as we honor the students and staff who make PMS amazing.

Thank you for your continued support in making this a special send-off for our 8th-grade class. Together, we are Pumas!

Puma Sports Update: Gear Up for a Busy May!

It’s an exciting time for our student-athletes! As we wrap up the current season and look ahead to the next, please mark your calendars for these three essential events happening this May.

🏅Mandatory Athletic Parent Meeting (All Sports)

Thursday, May 14 Calling all future Puma stars! We will be hosting a mandatory meeting for parents of students interested in playing sports for the next school year. We’ll discuss the upcoming season schedule, safety protocols, and expectations for our student-athletes.

🩺 Athletic Physicals

Tuesday, May 19 | 4:45 PM – 6:15 PM Don't wait until the last minute! To participate in any school sports for the upcoming year, students must have a cleared physical on file. We are making it easy by hosting on-site physicals at Plummer Middle School. This is a quick and convenient way to ensure your child is cleared and ready to play.

🏆 The Blue Print Pumas Sports Award Banquet

Wednesday, May 20 | 5:30 PM It’s time to celebrate our hard work and hustle! Join us for an evening dedicated to our incredible athletes. We will be recognizing individual achievements and team milestones during The Blue Print Pumas Sports Award Banquet Ceremony. Come dressed in your formal attire. Where’s... Your Library Book? 🔍

Have you seen it? Is it hiding behind a pile of laundry? Is it camouflaged under a bed or blending into a backpack?

Just like Waldo in the popular series, some of our library books have gone missing in the crowd! We need your help finding these "lost travelers" and getting them back to their home on the library shelves.

Your Mission:

  • Check Your Inbox: We’ve sent out "search party" emails to parents of students with outstanding items.

  • Search the House: If you see an email, help your student track down the missing title.

  • Return the Goods: Have your child drop the book off at the library media center—no questions asked!

Thank you for helping us keep our collection complete for all our readers. Happy hunting!
