Together, We Are the Canopy - Covering WNY in Prayer
Dear Pastors,
Together, we’re building the WNY Canopy of Prayer—a movement owned by the Church of Western New York.
As each of church takes one day a month, our united prayers are covering this region with God’s presence and power.
We’re excited to share more about the WNY Canopy of Prayer—a growing movement of churches uniting to cover Western New York in 24/7 prayer.
Together, we can see transformation—one day, one church, and one prayer at a time.
One House, Many Rooms
We would like to invite pastors, with your congregation to be a part of an exciting regional prayer initiative called the WNY Canopy of Prayer. The vision is simple but powerful: to see every church in Western New York come together to cover our region in 24/7 prayer. By committing to one day each month, your church family will help build an unbroken canopy of prayer over our homes, schools, churches, businesses, and leaders. Smaller churches and regional ministries can partner together to fill a day.
We will be joining Tampa Bay, Florida, Columbia, South Carolina and others around the world already engaged in this initiative.
Here’s how it works:
- Pastors choose one day each month for your church, and then invite your members to sign up for 15 minute to 1 hour prayer slots throughout that day.
- Prayer themes, focuses and points are emailed monthly from WNY Canopy of Prayer to be distributed to those who are praying on the assigned day.
- Many pastors are working with a person from their congregation who has a heart for prayer to help coordinate this, making the load light.
As you build the canopy in your church, each hour covered represents another hour of unified prayer being lifted over Western New York.
- Your portion of the Canopy is intended to reflect the unique culture and rhythm of your congregation.
As dozens of churches across WNY join together, every hour of every day will be covered in unified prayer. This united effort will create a powerful, region-wide movement of intercession that we believe will bring transformation, healing, and revival to our communities.
Together we will create a house of prayer with many rooms for Western New York as we build a lasting culture of prayer.
