January 5th Staff Development
We have learning opportunities available for you asynchronously or synchronously, depending on your preference, coming January 5th! Check out the PowerSchool learning platform for additional information. There will be sessions discussing the new Google Meet Enterprise features, best practices for concurrent teaching (virtual + in-person), tool for the Special Services virtual classroom, and much more!
Change the Speed of YouTube Videos
Do you find the speed of videos too fast to comprehend? Slow down the playback speed to your liking! If your students find a video too slow, they can also speed up the playback speed to their liking.
Upload External Certificates into PowerSchool
Upload your External Certificates (COVID, Suicide, TCCA, etc.) into PowerSchool and let PowerSchool keep track of all of your PD hours for the year! At the end of the school year simply run a PDF of all of your PD hours and upload that one document into Frontline! Here's a video explaining how to upload your certificates into PowerSchool!
eSchool & Schoology Sync
Schoology rostered data will sync with eSchool for the final time for the 2nd 9wks the night of December 7th.
Updates of students and student schedules from eSchool to Schoology (the sync) will be stopped by the district at that time to allow for future schedule changes without students losing access to classes the following day.
During the time that the Schoology syncs are turned off, any new students enrolled in courses will need to be manually added to teacher’s Schoology courses – they will not update from the eSchool schedule. Contact your DLS for assistance with this process. After the sync’s restart, the manually added student will need to be merged by your DLS with the eSchool student record.
Schedules will re-sync with Schoology on the night of January 4th. Students will lose access to Semester 1 courses and gain access to Semester 2 courses at that time.
Need to clear your Google Chrome browsing data quickly?
There’s no need to dig through menus—it’s as easily as a single keyboard shortcut and a few clicks. Here’s how to do it.
