PRINCIPAL'S MESSAGE
Friday, January 23rd
Thank you for your patience as we navigated our E-Learning day today. I was very impressed with how the students adapted to the change in learning environment and thank all of you for helping make the day run smoothly.
Thank you to the many K-3rd grade families who braved the cold last night and came out for Monarch Night! I hope your family enjoyed hearing the Monarch stories and participating in the associated activities. There are some great photos from the event further down in this newsletter so please keep scrolling to see the fun that was had!
Please don't forget that our Student Council sponsored Food Drive starts next week! We are excited to see how many items we can donate to the Wheeling Township Food Pantry!
I hope you all stay warm and cozy this weekend!

FEBRUARY PARENT TEACHER CONFERENCE SIGNUP (NEW POST!)
February conferences will take place on Monday, February 16th. These conferences will take place over one day and will be in 10-minute increments.
These conferences are always a great way for you to connect with your child(ren)'s teacher, spend some time in the classroom and hear about your child's school life! We appreciate the ongoing partnership and collaboration that is shared in the Patton community. Please note that there is only one conference time slot for each student.
Thank you to those of you who have already signed up for a slot! The signup link was emailed out to families on Sunday, January 18th but we realize there was quite an important football game on that evening so, for those of you who may have missed it, you can find the signup link HERE.
The signup will close at 12:00 pm on Monday, February 9th.
Fourth and Fifth Grade Parents: The conference times are for meeting with your child's homeroom teacher. If your child has a different teacher for math and you have specific math questions, please email him or her directly.
OUTDOOR RECESS INFORMATION (NEW POST!)
This is just a gentle reminder that students go outside for recess EVERY day unless it is raining or the wind chill is below 0°F. Please ensure that students arrive to school dressed appropriately for the cold weather, and please send them with their snow gear every day.
We try to minimize classroom interruptions as much as possible and there has recently been an increase in the amount of snow gear being dropped off after the start of the school day. This requires us to call in and interrupt classroom instruction.
Please help us limit classroom interruptions by taking a moment on a morning to make sure everyone has everything they need for a warm and comfortable recess.
Thank you so much for partnering with us on this front!
MONARCH NIGHT - THANK YOU (NEW POST!)
Thank you to all the families who came out to enjoy the K-3 Monarch Night last night! Everyone seemed to have a great time and it was so wonderful to see so many people celebrating wonderful books together! Thank you to Mrs. Levin, Mrs. Kownick, Mrs Jedd, Ms. Leigh, Mrs. Vincent, Mrs. Brown,
Mrs. Bishop and Mrs. Roura for offering their time to help out at this event and to the 5th Grade volunteers who came to help.
We extend a HUGE thank you to Mrs. Hemmer for arranging and organizing such a great event for us and for putting so much time and effort into the fun STEM events everyone got to take part in.
