LMS Friends,
Happy April Fool's Day!
We have fully transitioned to the third term at this point.
On Friday, March 18th, we had a "fun friday" school-wide. Each team designed their own activities and students were able to choose what they participated in. Reports from the teams were that it was a success. We will be doing two more of these afternoons before the end of the school year. These were suggested and organized by our advisory committee since we have lost time to do these sorts of events as a result of COVID.
On March 28th, staff members were able to spend some time together to focus on their own resiliency on the staff in-service day. A big thank you goes out to families and the PTO for organizing breakfast and snacks for staff. It was much appreciated! It was also a successful day for our staff!
As we roll into early April, it is important to remember that some mornings are still quite cold. We have had a few students show up to school not prepared for the still occasionally cold temperatures. We know the warm weather will be arriving shortly and can't wait for it.
We will be shifting how we do lunches after April Break. We will be closing our "gym cafeteria". The tent will be put back up in front of our school and our outdoor tables will be returned. Students will be relocated to the cafeteria with less distancing and outdoor seating starting after the break. A more distanced indoor space will be available for students who might prefer that. As always, we continue to appreciate your patience as we respond to the needs of our middle schoolers.
A reminder that school will be closed April 11th - 15th for the April Break. Enjoy it!
The next Scoop will come out on April 22nd. We wish you a fantastic start to April, wonderful April Break, and we will pick up the Scoop afterwards.
Regards,
John P. D'Entremont, Principal
Placement and Transition - Looking to 2022-2023
5th, 6th, and 7th Grade Families:
On Friday, March 11th families received emails about parent input for placement purposes for next year. This weekend is the last opportunity to complete this form if you have not done so yet.Morning Drop-Off Reminders - Last one for the Year!
There has been some steady improvement over the last few weeks with the drop-off loop. Thank You! We could still make a few improvements to ensure our students are ready to go in the building by 7:30.
Please come down Moulton Avenue from Prospect Street.
We continue to encourage families to drop students off anywhere in the drop off zone which is along the sidewalk. The first place you stop is where you should drop. Students can walk on the sidewalk to their respective doors to enter the building.
5th and 6th grade families should not stop prematurely to drop off. Pull as far forward as you can, drop, and be safely on your way.
7th and 8th grade families should not keep their students in the car, and drive all the way to the bottom. If you stop, even at the top, it is still OK to drop off there.
After dropping, please use the left lane to exit slowly and carefully.
The drop off loop will go quicker if everyone adheres to these simple reminders! Thank You!

Latest Update by Nancy Pageau
Happy April!
As we enter the last few months of our school year, I wanted to review our current covid protocol once again and finish up with some health related items.
COVID
Any student/staff who has one or more covid symptoms (cough, sore throat, headache, fever or chills, congestion/runny nose, fatigue, muscle or body aches, loss of taste or smell, nausea, vomiting or diarrhea) needs to stay home and perform a covid test before they can return to school. If you do not have tests available to you, please reach out, I have some available.
How to send test results
A photo of the test result, if a home test, or written test result, if a PCR/rapid test done outside the home, should be emailed to the nurse and should include the students name and date the test was done.
If you have any questions about whether your child needs to test, please reach out to the nurse before sending them to school.
Vaccines
We encourage anyone who is eligible to receive the covid vaccines, and booster dose, in order to be considered fully vaccinated. This is your best protection against the covid variants that are currently circulating and affects whether you would need to quarantine if you have been exposed to a positive case in your household.
Isolation/quarantine guidelines
I am including the guidelines for isolation and quarantine that we are following in the district:
**Please note that anyone who has to isolate or quarantine is asked to wear a well fitting mask for 10 days after testing positive or being exposed as a household member (whether you are vaccinated or not).
Water Bottles
I am encouraging you to send your child to school with a water bottle. The cups that I have been supplying to students for water are going to run out soon, and there are no plans to reorder them.I encourage all students to be well hydrated especially as we start to have warmer weather.
Immunization records
I am making one last ditch effort to ask for up to date immunization records for students. There are eleven 8th grade families and forty-three 7th grade families who have not provided proof of the required Tdap vaccine for their child. I know many of your children have had this vaccine, but we need a copy of the record that includes this information. I am in the process of emailing those families to request records. I truly appreciate it when parents provide updated physicals and immunization records as they are completed.
As always, connect with me if you have any medical updates or health questions.

- Lebanon Middle School: 81ZM9C
What will happen if a pool comes back positive?
We will follow this process for unconfirmed or confirmed positive cases:
If by chance a pool comes back positive, we will notify the staff and the families of those students in the pool that there is an unconfirmed positive case.
Students/staff in the pool will be asked to monitor for symptoms and will be tested two days later.
After the follow-up testing, those in the pool will be notified of either the negative or positive result.
The person who tested positive will be asked to isolate and close contacts will be notified per the procedures we have been following since the start of the pandemic. The Superintendent will also inform the larger community of the positive test result.
