Week of December 1, 2024
PRINCIPAL'S MESSAGE π
π Hello Bobcat Families,
Welcome back to the grind! I hope you all had a lovely week with your families. It is a few short weeks before winter break and I want to reiterate the importance of attendance during this month. We will begin iReady testing this week in ELA, and next week in Math. Please be sure your child eats a hearty breakfast and arrives to school on time. Thank you for your partnership with this!
Please note a couple of calendar changes---Friday, December 20th will now be a Minimum Day and school will get out at 12:10 PM. This will be in lieu of the former 1/17 Minimum Day, which has now been canceled.
Be sure to check the calendar below for important dates. See you soon!

LAST RUGBY GAME OF THE SEASON
Congrats to our awesome Felicita Rugby Team on a great season. They ended the season with a win against Juniper! Thanks to our cheerleaders and staff who came to cheer them on! Go Bobcats!
PARENT GRADUATION π
Last month concluded the Parent/Guardian Leadership Institute with the SDCOE at the North County Regional Center in San Marcos where some of our parent leaders graduated. The name of the 8 week training was "Unleashing the power of parent leaders: Their actions and impact empowering families, transforming futures".
Way to go graduates!

At Felicita, we believe Every Day Counts when it comes to student success. Consistent attendance is crucial because we know that when kids miss school, they miss out.
But being on time is just as important! Students who are tardy often miss valuable morning routines, announcements, and learning opportunities that set the tone for the entire day. Arriving on time helps students start their day with focus and ensures they donβt miss out on important moments with their teachers and classmates.
Letβs work together to build great habitsβbeing at school every day and on time. Thank you for supporting our shared goal of making every moment of every day count!

ATTENDANCE MATTERS β
Did you know Mondays are our LOWEST attendance day? Let's help improve this school-wide goal to increase attendance on Mondays! We will be having special competitions starting 11/18. Please make your best efforts to help send your students to school on this day!
Help us reach our attendance goal of 94% average daily attendance!
Regular student attendance plays a critical role in our collective mission to ensure every student achieves their fullest potential.
Why Attendance Should Be a Top Priority:
Academic Achievement: Regular attendance is fundamental to student success. Each school day is a building block in the learning process. Consistent attendance helps students keep up with coursework, understand key concepts, and perform better academically.
Social and Emotional Development: School is a place where students develop crucial social skills and emotional resilience. Frequent absences can hinder their ability to form strong relationships with peers and teachers, impacting their overall development.
Future Opportunities: Consistent attendance is linked to higher graduation rates and better long-term outcomes, including higher education and career prospects. By prioritizing attendance, we are directly contributing to students' future success.
School Culture: Regular attendance fosters a positive school culture and enhances the learning environment for everyone. It creates a sense of community and ensures that all students have equal access to the resources and support they need.
Congrats to all the attendance winners with the highest attendance last week!
